i need help understanding the terms and formulas of arithmetic progresions in general, my teacher kind of wizzed through it in class and i don't really understand. I'd like to know when to use certain formulas i'd like to see how they are written out like in words too,
for example when i heard the gauss theory and how he thought of it it really helped. Here are two example questions:

1. Find the sum of all the multiples of three between 1 and 100 and
2. Given that 5 +9+13 +17+...+Un= 2414, find n and Un

I think i found the first one ( i got 5049) but i'm really not sure, and the second one i don't know which formula to use.

When the equation is properly balanced with the smallest ratio of integer coefficients, which of the following statements are true ?

a) The coefficient of calcium cyanamide is 2

b) The coefficient of water is 3

c) The coefficient of ammonia is two thirds that of water

d) The coefficients of calcium cyanamide and calcium carbonate are both 1.

you must enter all true statements in one lower case group,
in alphabetical order
e.g., if a) b) and e) are true you would enter abe

I am not sure if engineer is the right career path for me to take. I am good at solving problems but I am slow at it sometimes. Iwas good in math in school. It was the first thing they took me out of special ed for in elementry school. I was good at science in high school mainly biology. I wasnt very good in shop classes. They where really hard. I have a diploma in computer repair and graduated highest in my class but never found a job in it. I understand some concepts on how things work mechanically. I have my doubts that I could come up with pracital ideas. Alot of my ideas for things are normally usuless or just personal interest that couldnt be applied to the real world market. Also I think the fact I was in special ed in english in highschool kind of hurt my credibility and I am 25 and havent even gotten threw freshman year of college may hold me back. Personality wise I am an odd ball, eccentric sometimes, curious, and by the myers briggs type indicator an INTP.
