This if from my ITT Tech Math book, It makes absolutely no sense to me due to the fact that this class never went over ohms law or anything like that.

I tried my best to put it completely in a jpeg.

A ray of light, a bunch of photons, hit a commom mirror, made of glass and a silvery paint behind. What happens then? Why the photons bounce back? Why the photons are not absorbed by the surface of the mirror? Why they bounce back in right angles?
Use mathematics if you want.

A 35 G toy car going right at 5 m/s has an elastic head on collision with a 30 g toy car going left at 3 m/s. After the collision, what are their velocities? (Speed and Direction)? ANy help would be useful. I set up 2 equations and used a substitution mehoid to solve but have no clue if i'm right. These equations were: A) A) 35( 5 ) - 30( 3 ) = 35V + 30(V2) and B ) 1/2 (35)( 5 )^2 - 1/2(30)( 3 )^2 = 1/2(35)( V )^2 + 1/2(30)(V2)^2
