I just read in an article that the largest living organism was a fungus growing in Oregon. The article also stated that fungi, or mushrooms, have 36,000 different sexes. I was bewildered because I thought there were only 3 sexes, male, female and hemaphrodite, which actually I don't really know if that is a sex either.

This should be really simply but I can't figure it out... the problem is: A car is driving along at 11 m/s, and the rain is falling at 3 m/s straight down. What angle q (in degrees) does the rain make with respect to the horizontal as observed by the driver

If someone could even tell me how to set this up it would be a great help... i'm completely lost

I have an order of operations question in algebra that is stumping me.

The problem is 6[(Zsquared +3 (0+2)]
The value of Z is -4.

These are my steps so far:

6[Zsquared+3(2)]

6 [Zsquared+6]

6[-16+6]

Now I am stuck. Do I get rid of the brackets and the problem becomes 6-16+6, or do I keep the brackets and multiply using the distributive property?

Also, if you see any problems with the work I have done so far, please let me know. Thanks!

God bless!

I've always been curious how this is done. I've had a lot of math but never seen anything that shows how to do it.

im trying to work out how to enamal coat graphite rods to help them last longer while subjected to extreme temperatures. im using .5mmX1cm graphite rods and burning them with a 12v battery with alagator clips on each end. it burns brighter than the sun and my VS7 lenses are not dark enough to block out the light, or at least to the point where it is bearable. it can cut through aluminum cans like butter and can melt the steel alagator clips. it is pretty much carbon ark cutting. also, does anyone know where i can get heavier diameter graphite(other than just .7mm)

What was the first thing ever? Example. What created God? Is God the first thing ever? Something has to create a creator and so on. There has to be a first time for everything, or nothing will exist. So what cause the first thing ever? But then the thing that cause the first thing ever...what created THAT? and THAT? See my point? It HAD to have started somewhere, but its too complicated for the human mind to ever figure out.

Ammonia (NH3) acts as a base by bonding with H+ ions in a solution to form NH4+. This is different from other strong bases wich increase the ph level of a solution by contributing OH- ions.

Are there any acids that function by bonding directly with OH- much in the same way the ammonia bonds with H+?

This would effectively increase the ratio of H+ ions in a solution and lower the solutions ph. Such a substance would be considered acidic. Are there any real examples of such a substance?

Hi. Does anyone know how to solve this?
On a planet you find that a 16.4 kg object falls downward 6.0 m in 3.2 seconds. What is the magnitude of acceleration due to gravity? How much does the object weigh on this planet? How much would this object weigh back on earth?
Thanks!
