And what if your original assumption is wrong?
Time is a construct of your mind, and so is its linearity.
God is, was and will be.
As soon as the universe stops expanding it'll start contracting and eventually end (implode). You could make a case that time will end at that point too, and we may have the origination of "our" universe. It'll just be, no beginning no end, just perpetual expansion and collapse, the end creating the beginning.
Try to wrap your brain around that!

I see what you are getting at, however, the phrase "there's a first time for everything" is a phrase that applies to personal actions only. Its not a scientific concept. According to the laws of conservation, energy and matter can never be created or destroyed it can only change form, so basically all of the energy and matter in the Universe has always existed in one form or another. If you believe in God, that would apply to God as well. Most religions believe that God has always existed.

That's where the concept of "the First Cause" comes from.
The idea is that something (God) exists as the First Cause, an eternal basis of reality which did not itself need creating - it has simply always existed - forever, beyond the time and space it created.

Everything was there forever unless life took place first time. And then everything changed. Like there were many questions before you asked this one still everyone has to think differently in order to find out your answer.

Religion and some beliefs will state stupid nonsense about this.
However, I think this is a very good question.
We might never discover that mystery, or, we even might not believe the basic concept of it.

God was not created. He has been around forever. Our human minds can not grasp that but we have to accept it.
