Will there be a day in the future when the human race as we know it will cease to exist? Maybe we will destroy ourselves leaving the planet to the animals that survive. Possibly we could create our replacements as many Sci-Fi movies depict. Or could the inheritor of our planet be from out of this world?

Who will inherit the Earth?

a) If x < 4, then |2x – 8| = 8 – 2x.

b) For all x, |x2 + x + 1| = x2 + x + 1.

c) For all x > 0, |x|/x2 = 1/x.

d) For all x < 0, |x|/x2 = 1/x.

e) At least one of the above statements is false.

NOTE: People sometimes squawk at (e). But if all of (a), (b), (c), and (d) are true, isn't (e) false? And similarly, if one of the first four is false, then (e) is true, isn't it?

I remember hearing a long time ago about a chemical that moves quickly through the human body, from cell to cell. I heard that you could taste it merely by touching it with your finger, because of this peculiar property. I also recall an episode of a cop show (possibly Barnaby Jones?) wherein the murderer dissolved snake venom in this chemical and painted his victim's steering wheel with it. What I don't recall is the name of the chemical, though I think it was a three- or four-letter abbreviation starting with M. Can anyone help?

Why do we not spead ourselves throughout the universe to increase our chances of survival ? Why do most want to save the earth and not the human race ? The earth is a lost cause ( all planets are ). If one planet is doomed, why not move to another ? Then another and so on...? Maybe build a planet. Do we think it's not possable, not worth it ? It can be done and should be, before it's too late.
