As in rise to run? If so- your roof and geographic monitoring of a hillside for slumping (the gradual downward shifting of hills, which is important to know if you build your house on a hill or have a town below a hill).

Slope is an expression of how fast and the general direction (increase or decrease) of something changing. For example a roller coaster track's slope is a comparison between the change in vertical height verses the change in horizontal length. Another example is distance and time. Imagine a trip where you gather how far you drive and the time at each data point. When you plot both, you get the slope of your trip. The slope represents the speed you drove.
Mathematically, SLOPE = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) for any set of 4 pieces of data. Recall (y2 - y1) is the change in y between point 2 and point 1. The same is true for (x2 - x1). The points of data can be very close together or far apart.

The slope is a mathematical measure enables us to see far is the inclination to the horizon. So you cannot ask about a real life example of the SLOPE
but you can ask what is the slope good for?
the answer in this case is:
1 At a certain inclination an airplane will fall down and crash for that reason the pilot should be careful to the slope of his plane
2. Do you have any idea about what happen to the leaning tower in Italy if its slope decreases? increases? I doubt.

I'll offer one, and you can use the idea to figure out others. Suppose that you have a road with an upgrade of six feet per hundred feet. A car, weighing 2500 pounds, approaches at 30 mph. What is the power required to climb the grade at constant speed?
