can anyone tell if this can bring epilepsy on and stop me from me doing day to day things for e.g. driving or bike riding

It might not "bring on epilepsy" but it could cause a subdural hematoma (blood clot in the lining of the brain) which can cause additional seizures and worse.

It would be very wise to have yourself checked out with an MRI or CT scan as soon as possible.

A bonk on the head can often bring on seizures, sometimes they stay for good, though its not that common.

Your doctor isnt going to test you for epilepsy on the basis of a seizure after hitting your head, the only thing you can do is wait and see if you have another one. Then if you do, you can get back to your doctor and get some tests done.

In the meantime, be more careful and try not to worry about it. chances are you wont have one again.

xx

As an epileptic I can tell you that you will not get epilespy from a bang on the head..However you should go to your Dr. and tell them what happened - trama to the brain can cause a seizure which is probably what happened. Your Dr. will probably send you for an EEG just to be sure that brain function is normal and you can resume driving. If not you will lose your DL for 6 months (in most states) to assure you aren't putting yourself or anyone else at risk of an accident.

The injury on the head is always dangerous, the seizure you had is the indication of seriousness. A Neurologist can tell the exact condition of your mental health. In case if it leads to epilepsy there are good medicines to control it. After studying EEG the doctor will tell you, you can drive or not.but usually such things are not permitted.

Only a professional doctor and some proper tests can give you the real answer to that and do it soon. The longer you wait the more harm you may be doing to yourself.Whenever you are in doubt over your health go to someone who really knows. Not this place. (no offense to anyone here)

It might be just one seizure, it might be several, it might be permanent (although that is unlikely from just a single blow to the head). You need to have an EEG done to see if there is any permanent damage.

Presumably you're now seing a neurologist and having tests...
They will let you know the outcome.
It could well have been a one off seizure you never know.
