Find the dimensions of a rectangle with area 1000 m whos perimeter is as small as possible. I try 1000 = xy and p = 2(x+y) so 1000 = (x-p/2)(y-p/2). what am i doing wrong?

Sometimes when I look at the sky I swear I can see us moving but I'm not sure if it's just the clouds that are moving or if it is the Earth... maybe both? Which is it?

N (t) = 1000e0.01t. After how many hours will the population equal 1500? 2000?

Also, if Iodine 131 is a radioactive material that decays according to the function
A(t) = A0 e-0.0244t where A0 is the initial amount present and A is the amount present at the time t (in days).
a)What is the half-life of iodine 131?

b) Determine how long it takes for 100 grams of iodine 131 to decay to 10 grams.

I REALLY NEED HELP WITH LOGS. I don't understand them at all.

Hey everyone!...I need to do a physics project relevant to physics on either kinematics, force and acceleration, work, energy, or momentum. I am thinking about doing it on something car-crash related, but I don't know what direction to take it in. If you can give me any ideas on where to take this idea, it would be much appreciated. If you have something different than my car-crashing idea that relates to at least one of these contents, it would be acceptable as well. Thank you!

I'm stumped on these, I've been able to do some, but the exponent on the outside of the square root is really throwing me off, any help is greatly appriciated. I hope it's readable, typing it out online is rough :), I've included answers for the ones that I was able to work through, although not all of them are complete.

√ = Square Root
^ = Exponent
/ = Numerator/Demoninator

Simplify. Assume that variables can represent any real number.

1) ^3√-8 / x^12
A) -2 / x^3

2) ^5√x^7y^2

3) √25x^6 / 16y^2
A) 5x^3 / 4y

4) (^3√6x)(^3√2y)
A) 2√x/

5) ^5√x^6y^4 / ^5√x^2y^3

6) (^4√xy^2)(√xy)

7) ^5√a^3 / ^4√a^2

8) 7√2 - 3√2
A) 4√2

9) (3 + √x)(7 - 5√x)

10) (√-4)(√-81)
A) 18

11) √48
A) √4√8

12) √36a^2
A) 6a

13) √x^2 - 12x + 36
A) | x - 6 |

14) Rewrite using radical notation: (2ab)^4/5
A) (^5√2ab)^4

15) Rewrite using exponential notation: √6x^2y

16) f(x) = √12 - 3x, determine the domain of f.

17) f(x) = x^2, find f(2 + √6)

18) Rationalize the denominator: √6 / 5 - √5

let x=y
then x*x=x*y (multiply both sides by y)
then x*x-y*y=x*y-y*y (subtract y*y from each side)
then (x-y)(x+y)=y(x-y) (factor)
then x+y=y (divide both sides by x-y )
then y+y=y (since x=y)
then 2y=y (add like terms)
then 2=1 (divide both sides by y)
