Apophis...In Egyptian myth, Apophis was an ancient spirit of evil and destruction, a demon that was determined to plunge the world into eternal darkness.
A quite fitting name, for this large asteroid that is now hurtling through space potentially on a head on collision with our little blue green planet.
Scientists are watching the progress of the 309 meter asteroid that was discovered last year.
NASA estimates that an impact from Apophis would release 100,000 times the energy that was released in the nuclear blast over Hiroshima.

Do you think that Apophis is a serious threat? What do you think about the claims that Apophis is the asteriod that will possibly wipe us out?

I hear lots of theories like our Universe is approximatly 12 billion years old and that it at all started with THE BOMB known as the big bang, more to that they say this Universe could in the end envelope back again and shrink back into an infinitismally small point in space and then explode again, OR if theres not enough matter in the Universe then it will simply keep on "expanding" to the limitless beyond, now heres the real question, if the universe is in fact expanding, and say the "universe" is all there is, all that can exist, doesnt it occur to you in a strange thought that what lies beyond the i guess the expanding "egde" of the Universe itself? its like imagining a balloon expanding in empty space, is the empty space around it just "nothing"? or am i not understanding the real concept quite right? its an open question, plz feel free to state whatever you want, whether its theoretical facts or ur own personal beliefs, thanks.

Need someone to check my work, and if wrong, tell me how....

1. How many solutions to this non-linear system -
y=(1/2)x^2+(x)-3
y=x-1

My answer is 2 solutions

2. Use the substitution method to solve this nonlinear system

y=x^2+2x+8
y=-6x-7

I got (11, -3) and (23, -5)

3. Use the elimination method to solve this nonlinear system
3x+y^2=19
x-y=7

I got (5, -2) and (6, -1)

4. How many REAL solutions to this nonlinear system

3x^2+2y=12
-3x^2+4y=24

I got 2 real solutions.

What if space is nothing more than a void created by some mass illumination. Light is still the common relative to speed. How do we trace a single sub-atomic imprint. If every visible dimension is really inverted. What is the most common sight we would see.

Days after the towers fell during the clean up, there were pockets of molten steel in the debri. You can find pics of heavy equipment picking up glowing red hot fused together steel here www.911physics.com along with many other interesting facts. Jet fuel can reach a maximun temp of 1800 degrees (not enough to melt steel). So where did this molten steel come from?? Is there any known materials in WTC 1 and 2 that would burn hot enough to melt steel in less than 2 hours?? A radio communication from a firefighter on the 78th floor said this:"Ladder 15, we've got two isolated pockets of fire. We should be able to knock it down with two lines. Radio that, 78th floor" you can listen to it here http://rapidshare.de/files/9140213/FireFighter.mp3.html This would have been very close to the impact zone. Hardly seems like the type of fire to melt steel does it?? How can the vast majority of Americans just ignore things like this??
