If you can always cut a number in half, and cut that in half, and cut THAT in half, doesnt that mean there are an infinite amount of numbers (or fractions of a number) between the number 1 and 2?

Also, how can you ever stand on one side of the room, and then walk out the door across the room, if there is an infinite amount of numbers in the distance between you and the door? I am so confused. Am I thinking about it the wrong way?

yes, i know about the treaties and rules created by us about polluting any object in space. but the moon is dead, will remain dead forever. it never rotates. the dark side of the moon is good for nothing. if we are going to spend so much money on exploration of outer space without receiving benefits for us yet, why don't we benefit ourselves by putting all waste, including toxic, into deep holes on the dark side of the moon?

How much longer do we have until there's no resources left to use? When will we die out because there aren't any left? What types of things are scientists using to replace some of our resources that we can't renew?

If a spaceship travels in light speed to the nearest galaxy upon his arrival Earth will be a few million years older. Action and reaction exists apparently everywhere and in everything. Is it safe to say that the ship in order to return to its point of origin will have to travel backwards in space and time. Will the understanding of dark matter and energy will provide us with an answer?
And what about the paradox? As the spaceship travel in light speed and the earth gets older and more technologically advanced wouldn't the dissendents of the travellers catch them on route or meet them at the finish line?

Is it posible that all matter caries with it time that time and matter are linked. IE> If you were on a space ship going the speed of light and came back after 20 years of trave every thing would have aged thousands of years. It would apear to me that light is not the only thing that sets its own time peramiters ,but that all mater has is own time ,and that matter caries with it is own time. And when in motion no mater how slow that motion may be you are slowing time, ( see my previous question) Would this theory validate my theory that time travel like light, outward in all directions ate the same time and when you aproach the speed of light you actually aproach the speed of time( you aproach the speed of time outside the time which is linked to the matter the ship carried which would include you) so on board 20 years passes but when you return thousands of years have passed. Does anyone buy into my theory that time travels like light? Does it seem like a plausable theory?

Let's say I travelled back into time and shot my grandfather(the grandfather paradox. BTW, I would never do this). Wouldn't I know that my grandfather would live because he did it before. See, In my grandfather's "original" lifeline, I also came from the future and shot him and he survived(how else would I be around to shoot him). So you see, if I shot him, wouldn't physics make sure he didn't die?

Why is it a paradox? My grandfather was shot. he lived. he had my mother who had me. I travelled back in time, shot him, and he lived, had my mother, etc.

Wouldn't physics prohibit his death?

Or am I completely off my rocker?

Assuming that the big bang theory is correct, then everything must have originated from one central object. Does this mean that this object was just sitting there for trillions of years before the big bang actually happened? Or is it possible that everything in the universe is not expanding from a central point, but just moving in random directions?
