I am trying to get a brick layer to build a wall for my small bar-b-q pit. It is a right triangle with each of the two sides 1 foot long. The hypotenuse is therfore the square root of two feet. The bricklayer is confused with hytpotneuse wall that is an irrational length. So I told him to shorten one of the sides just enough so all 3 sides are rational numbers that he can measure. I want the one foot wall shortend as little as possible. What is the length of the shortened side?

The human eye possesses 130 million light-sensitive rods and cones that convert light into chemical impulses. These signals travel at a rate of a billion per second to the brain. Did Darwin believe this was caused by evolution? Or was it intelligent design?

Evolution cannot explain the remarkable symbiotic relationships between species..How could two completely different species evolve seperately from discinct ancestors, yet depend on each other to exist? How can plants that need certain animals to survive have existed before those animals appeared in the first place? And, how do animals that need other animals to survive arrive without the other creature already being there?

Personally, I think it has nothing to do with pollution and holes in the ozone layer. If the earth's average temperature has risen one degree in the past 1,000 years, that's pretty normal if you ask me. I just don't buy into all the hype that we should FEAR FOR OUR LIVES and FREAK OUT! Lol....does anyone else agree?

For all those UFO buffs. Those who don't believe, please keep your peace.

Have you ever noticed most if not all of the news reports on UFOs involved only flying saucers? This is contrary to what is in the movies these days, which dwells on stories of intergalactic spacecrafts, space cuisers or spacewar birds, etc.

The logic is that if there are a number of extra terrestrial civilisations out there, then there should be different types of spacecrafts, just like what is propogated in the movies. Yet, it seems we see only flying saucers.......

Do you believe there is something special about flying saucers? Why is it most extra terrestrials used flying saucers and not other types of spacecrafts?
