The human eye possesses 130 million light-sensitive rods and cones that convert light into chemical impulses. These signals travel at a rate of a billion per second to the brain. Did Darwin believe this was caused by evolution? Or was it intelligent design?

Darwin's mainly worked with bird but the idea is the same that organism evolve in order to survive in their environment and in order for them to survive they must be able to reproduce and find food. so the question can't directly be answered but by studying and understanding his main idea you would conclude that it did evolve to better function as an organ in order to increase the survival rate of humans

Why incompatible? Why only human eye? A birds eye is just as intricate and in ways much more superior. I think nature is perfectly capable of creating such intricate organs such as the eye..as long as it helps in the survival of the species.. Think hundreds of millions of years..

Darwin didn't look at creation. he looked at microevolution of species of birds. His implications on that would suggest he believed that it 'happened by random chance'. kinda, well, stupid.
