There seems to be a false basis to your question. We cannot see someone walk on the surface of the moon even with a high-power telescope. The moon is 240,000 miles away. The crew of the space shuttle are about 200 miles away.

Yes, but it would be much easier to do with a satellite. Easier because there are satellites in geosynchronous orbit all points on the earth. The moon is always only on one side of the Earth at any given time as it rotates around the earth so sometimes the people on the moon could see you and sometimes they couldn't.

I've heard this said before-- it may only be an urban legend-- that during the Cold War, when Russia was sending up their spy satellites, and the commanders of air force bases were told to keep the hangar doors of certain experimental planes closed so that the Russkies could not see them from space and deduce things about their design and construction.

So one enterprising officer ordered his men to go out and stand on the parade ground when one of the Red spy satellites was due to pass over, and had them stand in a certain pattern, and at the appropriate time had them about-face, drop their pants and bend over-- spelling out "RUSSIA SUCKS!" -- in moons!

If the astronauts in the Space Shuttle could do that do you think the government would let you know? Food for thought.

They could, but they don't need to. We already have satellites that can easily observe someone on the Earth with complete perfect detail.

I mean they could observe you writing on a peice of paper and copy all of that information.

Yes, in theory they could, however our atmosphere makes it quite difficult and blurry.
