I'm 26 years old, and when i was in highschool, i never managed to get through the math classes - i tried my hardest to do the work, but i only know math as add, subtract, and some of the times chart.... i want to learn more, but don't have the money to pay for it. where's a good site that adults can use to learn math skills?

Personally, I'm not crazy about learning math online. I guess it's because I'm still in college taking math classes and I have two or three dozen extracurricular math books I haven't read yet sitting on my shelf (I got most of them very cheaply, and I don't have a whole lot of time for recreational reading these days). Another problem with online math is that you still need pencil and paper to tackle most problems. I just find it more convenient and comfortable to study math away from my computer.

Probably one of the best math websites I've seen online is http://mathforum.org/dr.math/ . I know you're looking for a website, but I think you'd have better luck reading a few good books about math. Try your local public library and you're sure to find some good ones. Public libraries have tons (maybe literally, who knows) of books on math for people trying to learn on their own. Pick up a book on the topic you'd like to start learning about, and brush up on simpler topics if you need to do so.

It is very admirable that you are interested in math, especially after your difficulties in high school. If you persist with your studies patiently and consistently, you will succeed. Good luck!
