Trying to Conceive - October 2006

Hi there,

I'm 31 and my hubby is 38. We are going to try and have our first child. I have a 28 day cycle and it's pretty regular. I just started my period on October 13 and I have been told to make sure we have sex on day 12 of my cycle and every other day afterwards. What else can I do to try and make sure this happens quickly? It's funny, we have waited for years for the "right time" and now that we've decided to have a baby I can't wait to get pregnant! I don't want to psyche myself up too much (I think that could screw things up). But I do want to have the best possible chance at conceiving quickly. I'd appreciate any advice. Especially from those who concieved their first child in their early 30's. A lot of my friends had kids years ago and I feel old because I'm just starting now. I hope 31 isn't too old to start having babies..

my husband had smoked weed for 14 yrs but has been clean for a month and a half and we want to have a baby. I was wondering if there would be anything to worry about and if there might be a possiblity of infertility on his part.

Could I still be pregnant? My fiance and I are trying to make a baby and for this month we have been having sex ever since 3 days (or so) after my ovulation date. I didn't do any formal charting or test to determine my ovulation date, I just went my the counting 14 days before my period due date and by the vaginal mucous (I apologize for grossing anyone out) Also, right now my breast are very tender and over the weekend I experienced mild cramping. Mature answers please.

I am TTC and I would be about two weeks pregnant if it worked. I have had some symptoms, but I am afraid in this cold/flu season, the symptoms are in my head - or an oncoming cold. Please relate your symptoms, so that I can feel some hope... or not about my situation. I still have 1 1/2 weeks before I can check!

Hello everyone, I'm very concerned. I have 2 children from a previous marriage and one with my current husband and every time I've tried BAM, I've gotten pregnant. And, this past mth. I took ovulation predictor kits, got a +, had my ovulation pain and we had sex, but we didn't get pregnant! I am so dissapointed and worried! After I had my daughter I was on the mini pill and the switched to Yasmine, and quit right before we tried, but the doc said there shouldn't be a delay. What went wrong? :*(

hey im just letting you all know who are thinking or waiting to take a pregnancy test.....STAY AWAY from the confirm clearly"smart test" pregnancy test,the test was to designed to help better read and understand the pregnancy test for people who get confused with the lines...the test has lights blue light if your pregnant and yellow light if your not and red if its an error and green light to let you know you can urine on the stick..yes a gr8t idea but the test dosent work !!! if you google confirm clearly false positive you will see reports of the false positive test...and yes i was a victim of the false positive crew..i suggest you all dont buy it...i reported the test and still havent recieved a response...if ne one know were i can report the test with out leaving a comment on the site let me know,so my question is were can i report this test??

My hubby to be and I are in our early 20's, he was diagnosed with Klinefelter Syndrome at age 22, the Dr. told him there is a low to none chance of having no kids, is this true? Is there any way I can get pregnant still and if so, will I pass this syndrome on to my child, will they have anything else wrong with them? I already have a 5 1/2 year old of my own, but the two of us would love to have a child of our own, we have been having unprotected sex for a year now and I have been off the pill for 2 years........

Please only answer this question if you have an idea of what you are talking about. I am asking this until I can take a test and ease my mind. I dont want to test to early. My fiance and i have recently decided to try and conceive. He works out of town so we cant always have sex at the right times. The first day of my last period was sept 23, my ovulation was oct 7, the only chance we got to have sex was oct 5, two days before ovulation. Do we have good chances of getting pregnant just from that one day? I know sometimes actually a lot of times people dont get pregnant as soon as they begin to try but I still felt it worth asking. I really want this baby. I have taken care of other peoples children for years, now I just want my own. I am really excited but I dont want to test too early. Please help if you can.

My hubby and I have been TTC since the day after my period ended Oct 5. I've been having mild cramps off and on, my breast feel fuller but don't hurt. I thought I had imp bleeding, but brushed it off. This morning, my right breast was leaking just a tiny bit. I took a pregnancy test a few days ago--neg. Should i try again? Has any one had this issue?

My husband and I have been TTC for 7 months now. When did you decide you needed medical assistance to help you get pregnant?

How did you come up with the money to pay for fertility treatments/ doctor’s and how much roughly did your fertility treatment cost all together?

Were you successful in getting pregnant?

How many of you found out that the problem was actually due to your husband? Were they able to fix the problem?

What was the successful method for you?

its been an hour now so i thought ill post this again if people missed my questions.
How long does it take to show up? meaning from the last time you had sex or the last time you had your period...anything helps......for example lets say you had sec on the 8th then it should show up when? on your preg. test?

My period is due on fri, I have alot of syptoms, I am exhausted, I am off my food, I have very heavy discharge and slight constiptaion, mY body temp is also up and down.I already have a baby but can't remember the first symptoms. I have done a test today and it was neg, could I be pregnant or is it wishful thinking?

i know its easy just to have a baby thats ur own, but wouldnt it be better to acutlyl have a baby and know wot u saved it from. and blood may be thicker than water, but since when did that matter? u can love a person like it was ur son or daughter. so how many peopel r actully considering it?

I have a close friend that is living in an apartment with her 2 daugthers & her husband, but she made the contract as separated & she is in the housing program... She has being living like that for almost 2 years, her husband work at nigth but sometime durign the day.. Since I'm about to move to an apartment she told me to do the same thing at least for a year to lower the rent payment... But isn't this called cheatting besides what if the managers from the apartment find out that my hubby is living in the same apartment with us I have a boy & a girl & I'm 5 months pregnant.... Will managers from the apartments check who lives with you or how does it work I don;t have any experience in this... But I would not like to be cougt... Any suggestions I rather be honest & see if we as cople can qualify !!!!

i want to conceive but the only way my periods are regular is if im on birth control. now that im off it i never know when im ovulating. is there something i can do to make my periods regular again without the birth control so i can get pregnant?

Here is the situation a few years ago me and my husband had started trying for a family until I found out that i had pcos and two blocked tubes and my husband as well had a low sperm count .We considered our options and decide to trust in God. To get to the point my period surprised me last month it was very dark in color and i had no cramps whatsoever and did not even know it had come on had i not went to the rest room; it did not get that much heaviereither and stop off early. Now this month it has been around 2 weeks now and i thought that my period was coming by cramping bloating gas (excuse the bluntness) and tenderness of the breast this has been going on for 2 wks mind you but no period i don't want to sound insane but i'm afraid to get my hopes up but i have prayed for this very moment for so long i am just so full of emotion

please only serious answers for this is a very serious situation for me.thanx

I have been off bc for a month and a half. I took a pg test and it came out negative. I had all the feelings of cramping, and being moody & tired, etc.. right before my period was supposed to come. So not sure why it is late. Was it too soon to take the pg test? Can anyone help me with this?

and im having some pain in my lower abdomen since from 2 - 3 weeks .i went to doc she did ultrasound everything is normal and she did urine test to check whether i got urine infection that is also normal .then y im getting this pain usually when i bend then i dont feel comfortable ill get some pain and ill get some little cramps both sides of my lower abdomen.sometimes left side and sometimes right side.doc said everything is normal and i dont ve cysts also my uterus is normal ,but what is wrong with me ?is this a sign of pregnency or something else?v had sex 14 days back and i did my HPT today morning but was -ve.ve i tested it very soon .what is wrong with me .some personal experiences plz

I was supposed to start my period 3 days ago. is it possible to be pregnant with a negative pregnancy test at this point. I know its early, but most of the tests say "as early as the first day of your missed period." My hubby and I have been trying for a few months and im usually extremely regular! So being this late is not normal for me. Is it possible that I could be prego and not have a + test yet?
