Please only answer this question if you have an idea of what you are talking about. I am asking this until I can take a test and ease my mind. I dont want to test to early. My fiance and i have recently decided to try and conceive. He works out of town so we cant always have sex at the right times. The first day of my last period was sept 23, my ovulation was oct 7, the only chance we got to have sex was oct 5, two days before ovulation. Do we have good chances of getting pregnant just from that one day? I know sometimes actually a lot of times people dont get pregnant as soon as they begin to try but I still felt it worth asking. I really want this baby. I have taken care of other peoples children for years, now I just want my own. I am really excited but I dont want to test too early. Please help if you can.

Chances are good that you could be, and you would have a slitly higher chance of having a girl. Just have to wait it out, and I know its hard, I am doing the same thing, ovulated the same time as you actually. Just have faith that you will get pregnant, it may not happen this month, it may not happen next month, but it will happen. Just know in your mind that you will be pregnant soon, and feel joy with that and it will happen. I think its too soon also, because I really think I am, sore boobs and all, and I took a test yesturday, knowing it was too soon, just wanted to see, negative. Wait until friday, then it may show. If you wan tto see you could test, but if its negative, don't get too upset, just know that it is early, and just might not show yet. Good luck, and baby dust to you!

I would agree with everyone else. There is a chance you could be pregnant, since sperm stays in your body for a few days. I also agree that there would be more chances of you having a girl, since they apparently "swim slower but live longer". I also heard of the "First Response" test that you can actually take a few days before your period is due. But don't get discouraged if you're not. It took me a year to conceive my son, and I know how excited you get every month. We are trying to conceive again, I hope it'll happen soon, and for you too! Good Luck!

The only way for you to know if you are ovulating is to take your basal body temp each morn, same time and before you get up. You should see a pattern in temps that leads up to and after ovulation. You can get the basal thermometer at Wal-Mart for about 8 dollars. I use a wonderful FREE website called Fertilityfriend.com...it graphs your temps for you, keeps track of your fertility signs, tells you when you ovulate and also tells you if there is an implantation dip in your temps. You can also use Ovulation prediction kits, but they only measure your LH surge and give you a ball park time for ovulation...they do not pin point it. Oh, and it is possible to be ovulating while you do not have your period, just like it is possible to have a period and not ovulate.

i dont really know a whole lot about the ovulation thing both of mine just crept right in but i do know you have to wait to test until you have missed your period for 5 days but i do think now they have tests that will tell after just 1 day of missed period. its been a while since i took one 10 years to be exact. It is possible to get pregnant that close to ovulation. You can take the First Response test 5 days BEFORE you are supposed to get your period.

It might be possible that you could have gotten pregnant on just that one day. Sperm stays alive in you for about 5 days. So it's not that one time sperm that can impregnate you.. there are 5 days of possible pregnancy. Good luck to you and I hope everything works out!

You might not feel him/her "move" from one side of your uterus from the other, but kicking is for sure moving. I didn't start feeling my baby move really well and know that it was movement until I was about 22 weeks. I'm now 27 weeks and movements/kicks/punches are very frequent and noticeable. I honestly thought my baby's first few movements were just gas! LOL!! Once he got a little stronger I realized I had been feeling him move, not gas bubbles. Hope this helps!

There is a chance. Although it would have been best not to wait too long between sex. Too high a sperm count, or too low a sperm count can kill your chances of becomming pregnant. I know that sounds weird, but it is true.
