Pregnancy - November 2007

My water broke 3 weeks ago, i am 32 weeks pregnant and the doctor wants me to go as long as i can. But no further then 36 weeks which means we would be in the hospital for christmas. I could go at anyt ime tho because my water has broke. The doc did say that if i did go in labour they wouldnt stop me and said they would not have any concerns because the babies lungs and organs are fully developed. He is perfectly healthy and very active(happy) So what's stopping them from giving me my section? How come they cant speed this up? I am loosing my mind in this hospital. What can i do to get this thing started?

Here I want to discuss something that not too many people seem to talk about. This is regarding women who drink alcohol and/or take drugs (or any unlawful substance) while they are pregnant, and whether it should be against the law to do so. What do you think? I personally believe that yes, it should be illegal. I think if a policeman or some kind of authority figure walks in a bar and sees a pregnant woman drinking, then he should have every right to detain her for child endangerment. If people see a pregnant woman looking high and walking down the street, then they should notify the cops. Besides, it IS doing harm to an unborn child, which is, I believe, against the law. However, I do know that some people may argue that if a woman decides to consume drugs and/or alcohol in HER body and if it's affecting HER child, then it is her issue to deal with.

I am 23, married and already have one child, me and my husband have been trying for a baby for about 7 month now......i had my last period ended on the 4th July and i have not had one since......i have took god knows how many pregnancy test and 2 month ago went to the docs to get blood taken for hormonal changes......one came back over average but doc told me not to worry......but still no period and i swear i think im pregnant.......got all the sign......sickness, cravings, sore breasts and i am sure i feel i baby kickin..........is this possible????? When the doc took the blood tests........do they have to test on a pecific reason ie. hormonal change, diabetes etc.........do u understand what i mean????? Please help the doc told me not to come back for another 3 month if my period hasnt came yet......i jst want to know whats goin on.....can anyone please help me????? thanks xxx

I know that pregnant women go pee pee more often but has anyone else noticed that you feel like you have to go much more often but then when you go, not that much comes out. I sometimes feel like Im going to wet myself and when I goto the bathroom, its not that much. Is this normal?

Ok so im 37wk 4d and had my appt today and The baby is engaged, im a "loose" 1cm 90% effaced...2days ago i was "Barely"1cm and 50% effaced, 4 days before that i was a "fingertip" and 50% effaced... Do you think at this rate i will deliver soon (In your opinion.. yes i know you really cant tell but i want to see what you think) Also my main thing i wanted to ask was.. what happens when you get to 100% effaced? Do you just start to dialate then?

I'm 39 weeks and some change- first time mommy, of course. And, of course, I have a bajillion things running through my mind. In particular, is it possible for my baby to be transverse/breech this far along in the pregnancy? She's yet to drop, and it feels like she's laying sideways. Then again, I don't really know how to tell. I feel little movements in all four quadrants of my abdomen, so that's no help. I'm sure I'm just worrying about nothing, especially since my midwife said nothing about it when she was searching for the baby's heartbeat at my last checkup (two days ago). Then again, I didn't ask either. Is there an easy way for me to be able to tell whether or not my little girl is breech?

I just took a test and it came up with 2 lines and according to the box, that means positive. It's just one line is lighter than the other. I just am in shock, I don't think I am. Anyone have this same situation?

There are a number of questions regerding a "if women could get men pregnant" scenario. In all seriousness, I was wondering:

Men: If you could get pregnant by women, would you ever consider doing it? Do you think you could handle it? How would you feel about carrying a baby inside of you?

Women: If you get get a guy pregnant (with his consent) would you? How would you feel about your husband/partner carrying a child instead of you?
Also for women (out of curiosity): If you have already have had one or more children, what does it feel like to carry a baby inside of you?

okay, so i'm currently nursing my 8month old girl. and i just found out i'm pregnant. i've noticed a slight drop in milk supply. but my baby seems satisfied after a feeding so i'm not worried about that. but what i wanted to know is, is it okay for me to nurse her for the nine months i'm pregnant, and can i continue nurseing her once the baby is here. it's very important to me that i nurse her for two years.

i had a baby 11 days ago and ever since ive not been feeling myself i cry all te time even over the tinyest things i dont answer the phone or really talk to anyone this is my 4th child i had a few teas each time i had my other children but never to this point. is there anything i can do to make myself feel better?

I was just wondering how far along I would have to be for my baby to be born safely before full term. I will be full term in 11 weeks (37 weeks) but if something were to happen before then how many weeks would I have to be for my baby to be ok?

I am scheduled for a labor induction on December 7th, 3 days before my due date. (It also happens to be my birthday, haha.) My OB/GYN decided on this course of action because I have gestational diabetes.

What should I expect when I get to the hospital? I'm being given Pitocin. Could anyone walk me through their experiences with Pitocin and induction? Thanks!

Ok i thought it looked strange and that it was not right how they allowed this.

It is one of my sister's friends who is 17 (My sister is 18)
Anyhow the picture is of this pregnant girl holding her belly -looking down at it too and the school took this picture along with a regular pose of her.
I don't know if she asked for that or they asked her to do that but do you honestly think that is right to do?

the reason i asked is because i called the doctor to make an appointment to get checked up but my last period was on October 23 so i still haven't technically missed a period... but it never comes at the same date anyway... but they told me they couldn't see me because its too soon and that i need to take another test because the two that i took can be wrong! i mean has this happened to anyone when the test comes out positive but you're not pregnant?

down there it smells like amonia on my pad which i can smell from a distance and i change my pad regular, but isnt helping. I has a raunchy odor too.
Anybody experience this?
