Because we are so naive when it comes to our first's! When it gets to second time round we are more apprehensive because we know what to expect and more about all the things that can go wrong.
I stressed out majorly when I was pregnant with my second as my first birth was an induction and 9pd baby without epidural or anything, so needless to say it wasn't the best birth. I was so worried that I would have to go through all that or worse.
But when the 2nd time came I was so relaxed and in control that I breezed through it no problems!
I'm now 7 weeks pregnant with our third (and last!) and although I am not exactly looking forward to all the pain I know it really isn't that bad!

Just relax, remember all the things you learnt the first time and read through some information on labour and birth again just to refresh your memory. I found this helped me heaps!

Best of luck, you will have a wonderful birth and there is nothing to be apprehensive about.

Cause you know what is coming now. I was kinda the same way with my second up until recently when I began telling myself that I have to go through with it no matter what and the outcome is so totally worth it!
If your first labor was really traumatic, I am sorry for that. Just remember YOU CAN DO IT!
Good luck and congratulations on your 2nd!!!

I was more nervous with my second also! With my first I didn't know what to expect and had no idea what kind of pain I would be in. Well, with #2 you do know. I also was in labor with 30 hrs and had complications with my first and that scared me too. Now I'm pregnant with # 3 and I'll be a little scared about this one too. Its normal. Congrats!

Because you've already done it. Maybe it was hard or painful and you are tense/scared about it happening again. Its normal, I'm planning my second baby and I'm dreading having to give birth again. But all pregnancy's and deliveries are different. So don't worry you could pop this baby out like a champ. You wont know until its time to deliver your baby.

I felt the same way for no describable reason. I just had my second 7 days ago. He was born emergency c-section. I wouldn't choose either delivery over the other. Both had their challenges and scary parts. Good luck, no matter what you expect, it will probably be different :)

Probably because every child is different. If you have a Doctor that you trust though, relax. Remember too, God is with you.
