At my doctor's practice, all the doctors want the first appointment between 8-10 weeks. So no, you are about right. They used to see you earlier, but that was mainly to confirm the pregnancy. Now, the tests are pretty much as accurate as at the doctor's, so they wait a little bit.
Good luck!

I didn't know how far along I was with this one so I had my first doctors appointment at eight weeks. They originally thought I was twelve weeks which is why I got an appointment so quickly. I didn't know I was pregnant with my son until I was four months so I didn't get an appointment until I found out. Had I known I was only eight weeks, though, my doctor would have scheduled me to go in around twelve weeks. It's really not that important to go in really early unless you suspect something is wrong.

Mine was at 9 weeks....some women don't even know they are pregnant until well after 11 weeks and they have healthy babies so I am sure it's fine. Your doctor would have scheduled sooner if that was going to be too long to wait.

mine ended up being at 7 wks-- but i'd made the appointment before i even knew i was pregnant--i was going to see an OB/GYN about not having a period for 4 months and i ended up finding out between making the appointment & going that i had gotten pregnant.
11 wks is pretty normal.

No, sounds just about right.
My dr saw me right away, like at 6-7 weeks because I'd had a Cryosurgery done and was afraid it had hurt the baby. Thankfully, no harm done and now we're well into our 28th week.
Congrats!

5 weeks for me. But any time before 12 weeks is ok. They can give you a very accurate due date anytime before 12 weeks. I am 8.5 weeks and just had my first blood work done last week.

I had my first appointment at 6 weeks and they did a vaginal ultrasound and i got to see the baby (which was very very tiny at that point) and I could see the heart beating.
