Pregnancy - March 2007

I was just woundering how i would be able to tell how far along i would be if my last period was on Jan. 28th. It was a short period only a couple days and lite spotting the days to follow. The dr. office said that according to the blood test i am around 3-5 weeks, but i think i might be farther along then that. Should i go w/ my own instinct? or by what the dr's say w/out an ultra sound? Thanks for your help

I didn't really have a shower with my first child, and I am wondering what to expect this Sunday, my friend is throwing a shower for me. (# 2 is due in 4 weeks.)

There were about 30 invites but only 8 RSVP's, how many people showed up to your shower? Did more show up than RSVPed?

Do people actually enjoy the games? My friend has included me in planning and they sound fun, but the thought of a room full of adults actually playing games seems odd to me, I have limited experiance in this area.

What can I expect to receive? I know that gifts aren't the point, I want to have a party to celebrate the new addition to my family, but being our second child and we are financially stable I don't know what to expect. We already have all of the "big ticket" items and most everything else, what kind of things do you usaully get?

It's a "co-ed" shower, but men will be outside with the BBQ and ladies inside at the party. Any ideas to make this event even more memorable and fun?

My wife has real bad Prurigo of Pregnancy. I hate to see her in so much agony with the itch. Nothing the doctors have given us has made any difference. It actually seems to make it worse. I hate to say it but these military doctors seem inept sometimes and it would not supprise me if they had no clue what they were talking about.

I am 37-39 weeks pregnant the doctors keep changing my date. But I have this sharp scratchy feeling down there in my cervix. It's almost like a sharp feeling like a fingernail scratching from the inside out. That's the best way I can describe it. Does that make sense? It happens when I'm walking and when I'm sitting also followed by sometimes a grinding feeling but not all the time. Plus the baby moves around at the same time. I told my doctor this and he wasn't sure and hadn't heard it like that before. Does anyone know about this feeling?

Hey guys,
Was just wondering whether anyone can share how long it took to get pregnant after coming off the pill. I was only on it for about 6 months and am curious whether it will take my body a while to adjust. I have had one fairly normal period since coming off and it's been about two months since I stopped. My last pregnancy only took about 3-4 months to conceive after coming off pill. Anyone like to share their thoughts?

Lately I've been having these nightmares that are so scary. I wake so scared with my heart beating so fast. Is it okay for the baby to feel those emotions and has anyone experienced this?

This is my first pregnancy and I am 18 weeks pregnant. I am so excited but then again there's the worries... you all probably went thru it... By the way, my friend who's pregnant felt her first baby's move when she was 16 weeks.. Why can't I feel my baby yet? Is there something wrong???? I ask about abortion only because I want to get INFORMATION and make KNOWLEDGEABLE decisions in the future. Then why the **** do you get all judgemental about me and blame me for asking questions about abortion? Isn't Yahoo Answers intended to be a place where people can exchange views and debate intelligently and gain information about a topic. If you feel uncomfortable about a topic, then kindly KEEP AWAY from it. Don't interfere in a person 's quest for knowledge just because you feel uncomfortable with it.

Besides, the reason why I post the same question in different boards is because of the stupid Yahoo Answers system which won't for some reason show my question on the board. So, that is why I post the question in more than one board ok, it's not my fascination or ego for getting lot of responses, it's for a valid reason.

I was just curious, I have herd that not to long before you go into labor, the baby doesnt move as much, and you have a lot mroe bowel movements....is this true, I'm 38 and 3 days pregnant, and yesterday and today it seems like I have been going to the bathroom (#2) a lot more and the baby isnt moving as much, still moving though.

hey guys i am a mother of two, and i have two boys already, and i'm expecting my 3rd child, i just found out today that i'm havin another lil boy. everyone keeps telling me that children are a blessing from god. but i prayed for a lil girl before i even thought about concieving. i'm so upset and sad. but do u guys think it's wrong to pay for sex selection the next go round???

i had to have a methotrexate shot 2-27-07 because my dr said she believe i was having an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy but i later found out my hcg levels were in normal range with how far along i was. has anyone ever been told they were having a ectopic pregnancy then find out after it was too late that wasnt what it was? please help me understand this

At my midwife appt. on monday, she said the baby was 1/5th engaged. (1/5th the way down under my pelvis bone). Is there any way to help him go futher down? How long did it take people for their baby to become fully engaged? (and how long did it take for you to go into labour after that?)

She already has a daughter named Sharaya. She asked me my opinion on the name. I told her I liked it. The problem is I like it but I think it rhymes too much with her 1st daughters name.
