Lately I've been having these nightmares that are so scary. I wake so scared with my heart beating so fast. Is it okay for the baby to feel those emotions and has anyone experienced this?

Yep i have been having nightmares more frequently these days (am 34.5wks pregnant) - indeed last night i woke up my fiance because i actually screamed out "No" while i was asleep. I have horrible nightmares where people are chasing me or trying to take my baby etc - i wake up panting and really upset!

Doc just said its nerves, anxiety and hormones and vivid dreams are actually reported by alot of pregnant women.. doesn't stop my "scary" dreams but atleast i'm pretty normal! lol.

Baby will be fine :)

Oh yeah! Actually, i asked this question late last night. I have really scary dreams. Not anything that would probably be scary to any but me like people i love hating me or being mean to me. I dream that i am in trouble alot too. Of course i have had a few crazy ones about the baby too. I dreamed i gave birth to a baby dolphin.

Don't worry, it's normal. Pregnancy causes all kinds of extra anxiety, plus moodiness and hormonal fluctuations. It stands to reason that your dreams will be strange. Unfortunately, sometimes they stray into the realm of terrifying. When I was pregnant with my first child, I had the same dream every night for a week - that I put his carseat on top of my car, then forgot he was there, drove off, and ran over him. It even got to the point that I ws sleepwalking and having arguments with my husband while fast asleep. My doctor told me it was just a combination of natural anxiety and hormones, and not to be too concerned.
Babies are pretty strong little things, even before birth. I'm sure yours will be fine. Congrats and good luck!
