I had a miscarriage last month exactly February 1st. I have my son who is 7 months old now so I have had a normal healthy pregnancy before I miscarried a month ago. A miscarriage is the worst feeling any woman can go through. Not even the birth of my son was as bad as a miscarriage in my opinion. I too, started bleeding very light in the start, The next day it progress to very heavy bleeding. I started to pass large clots as big as my fist. I had the urge to push or in better words for anyone who hasn't been through labor the urge to do #2. It was the worst pain in the world. I kept on bleeding and staining everything! I began to worry. In my case, I didn't know I was pregnant. I immediately did some research that night on the net and put two and two together and had some what of an idea that I was going through a threaten miscarriage. When I was sitting down, I felt okay although I was having major pain. When I stood up to use the bathroom I would drop major LARGE clots! It was bad!!! I called my OBGYN and explained to her what I was going through. I thought I was having a bad period because I hadnt had a period since the birth of my son. My last period was Oct 05. Now, I am still bleeding from my miscarriage now and its been like I mentioned since Feb. 1st. I am also going about every week or so to do blood work to make sure my beta goes down. It is still high in my case. I did not do a D&C.

In case you don't know what a D&C means? D and C — also known as dilatation (dil-ah-tay'-shun) and curettage (koo-re-tahzh') — is a minor surgical procedure in which the physician first dilates or opens the woman's cervix and then inserts a thin, spoon-shaped instrument and uses it to remove material from the internal lining of the uterus. Dilatation, therefore, stands for opening the cervix; curettage means the scraping of the uterine wall.

I hope everything goes well with you. I pray you have a normal and healthy pregnancy with beautiful babies. Miscarriages are very emotional. I hope you carry strength. If in the worse your doctor does suspect you are having a threaten miscarriage then you need to relax and do absolutely nothing --but be in bed. Just relax and think positive thoughts.

GOOD LUCK! HUGS!

It is very painful and very emotional. The doctor should know if you have had one because all they have to do is an ultrasound and if there is no heartbeat then a miscarriage is coming. I just had one two weeks ago, it started with bleeding very light (but that is normal in a normal pregnancy too) and then you pass clots. A natural miscarriage can take 5 to 10 days, mine was 7 days. I was in a LOT of pain. If you cannot pass all the tissue naturally you will have to have a D&C which hurts too (or so I have been told). You doctor just needs to check your hormone levels as well to tell if you are having a miscarriage. There shouldn't be any "I don't know". I was in the ER for 5 hours, they did blood work and an vaginal ultrasound, he said I was having a miscarriage. I couldn't WAIT for it to be over and now I just want for my period to come back (that takes 4 to 6 weeks) so I can have three normal periods and try again for another baby. I was trying for six months when I finally got pregnant and miscarried after 7 weeks.

I had a misscarriage last april. At first i just noticed some light bleeding. I went to the hospital and they told me that I could be starting to have a misscarriage but my cervix was closed and to wait it might stop. I had no pain or cramps. 2 days later i started to feel like I was having a period (I get really severe cramps) But these cramps weren't that bad. I got up to go to the washroom and a clot as big as my hand came out. After that my cramps were totally gone. I was about 7 weeks along.

I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. I didnt have a lot of pain or heavy bleeding. I had light bleeding for 3 days then it stopped. 3 1/2 weeks later I had a normal period. I never passed clots. I was told that my body just re-absorbed the baby. They did an ultrasound and there was nothing left so I didnt have to have a D&C. It was a hard thing mentally and I dont with it on anyone. Good luck.

I had really painful cramps with my miscarriage, along with a lot of bleeding. I had to go to the doctor every week to track my HCG levels to make sure they dropped. Otherwise, I was going to have to have a D&C. I was very early into the pregnancy (7 to 8 weeks), so I don't know how different it is if you're further along than that. I hope that everything will be okay for you. If you and your doctor aren't sure, rest all you can and don't overexert yourself.

i miscarried 3 years ago with my first pregnancy.
i started spotting at first and called the dr they told me it was normal and that i didn't need to come in, well the bleeding kept getting a lit bit hearvier (not as much as a period though). so i called back and told them it was a few days and getting worse so they had me go and get my blood drawn, then that night i woke up in the worst cramping in my life, nothing has ever hurt that bad even giving birth to my daughter a year later. the cramping was extremly bad i couldn't move and was sweating. then the next day i was plae as a ghost adn just felt terrible. then by the time they let me come in to be checked out i had miscarried but not all of it had came out so th edr pulled what was left out-another terrible feeling.
hope that helps

I`ve had two..The first was at 5 weeks and was pretty much like a period with slight cramping....My second I was around 9 weeks and I got really bad pains that went around my stomach and down....Just like contractions just not as intense..Then you start bleeding and pass some tissue..It`s horrible...It took me 3 days before it was over...I don`t know how far along you are but I hope for the best for you...Until you find out for sure stay off you feet and relax as much as possible....Good Luck.

with my first child I miscarried I started with light bleeding and went to the hospital they said they wouldn't know yet whether I would lose the baby or not. I went home but started bleeding really heavy the next day. Lots of clots and the pain was like contractions and a need to push. You might not get that though as I had to have a curette
