she's awake from 8 am til whenever we go to sleep. we have a nearly 4 year old son as well, and he didnt have any sort of sleeping issues. we try to put her to nap, and she closes her eyes and everything, but then they are wide open again within 2 min. is she overly hyper to where she cannot sleep is what i'm wondering.

If I could name twin daughters, they'd be Tatiana and Tamara.

Russian names are awesome! (well, some of them)

for the past 2 nights in a row i cant seem to get my daughter to sleep in her crib. SHe falls asleep with me but when i go to put her in her crib she wakes up instantly and cries. Im AGAINST the cry-it-out method so i dont want to just leave her in there but i dont want her to get used to sleeping with us. Last night was understandable.. she had her 4 month old shots that morning and had a terrible fever, but the night before nothing out of the ordinary happened and she absolutly refused to sleep in her own crib. She is a breastfed baby and at night i nurse her in our bed but the minute shes done she goes back in her crib because we didnt want her to get used to sleeping with us. I dont mind her sleeping there for a few minutes but im nervous about my husband who is a heavy sleeper and her sleeping with us. I need some ideas on how to get her to stay asleep when i put her down in her crib. Keep in mind that I DO wait until she is totaly asleep to put her down,..

What is a website that lists the fods you should eat and not eat when breastfeeding? I know some foods have bad reactions on babies. And I know other foods you should definately include. I would like to know what these are.

My daughter's 8 months old. She has quite a bit of hair, and after her bath I usually just towel dry it. In the morning it's all over the place and won't lay flat. I'm just wondering if blow drying her hair is an option, or if she's still way too young?

the brain is running a little slow.........i am throwing my friend a baby shower. I am on a very, very tight budget (i have 2 babies that i stay at home with and i am currently going through a divorce. so you can imagine how tight the budget is.). my friend asked me to have it at an all you can eat buffet here in town. since thats what she wanted i made the reservations and sent it out with the invitations. i've never thrown a baby shower before so i don't know if i have to pay for everyone's lunch? if i'm obligated to do so...i don't know what to do cause i can't afford it.

also, i bought her a cute baby sleeper, pacifier clip, and baby booties for her gift. i gave her a lot of really nice things that my babies no longer needed (high chair, wipe warmer, baby books, toys, etc...). she always buys my babies very nice gifts for holidays. i almost guilty, like i should buy more things for her gift. should i be feeling this way? any advice is appreciated!

I need a new car seat because the one we have doesn't fit our car. I don't know what to do. I can't return the car seat, because we bought it too long ago. The funny is that the car seat fits forward facing, but not rear facing.

my g/f has tried to breast feed our 2 day old son with bad results as her nipples are a little bit to big to fit inside his mouth. we have talked to midwives and doctors but they don't seem to care (that's the NHS for you!), they just say keep trying...
because the baby is not latching on properly, it's very painful for my g/f and hence her nipples are getting more swollen.. (baby will not even drink from a bottle but he will drink ONLY from a cup (is he just lazy?))
please please give us some advice on what we can do as my g/f really wants to breastfeed.

I want to get a flu shot tomorrow to protect my family. Question is, I know the vaccine contains thimerosal. Does it affect my breast milk? I'm very concerned. I've also asked several doctors for the mercury free version, but no one seems to have it.

Can I still get my shot? Would it protect her as well?

I don't have any children and have a very close friend who has a baby boy about to turn 1! I want to buy a SUPER present that isn't a plastic toy that he won't look at in 2 hours. I won't say money is no object but not the first consideration. Any ideas for me?

I have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and was wondering what kind of Convertible car seat will fit in my car. I really want to get a Fisher Price Car Seat (which is made by Britax), but if I can't get that one is there a cheaper one that I can get to fit my car.
