Here is a direct quote from Kellymom.com, the best breastfeeding resource on the web: "There are NO foods that a mother should avoid simply because she is breastfeeding. It is generally recommended that you eat whatever you like, whenever you like, in the amounts that you like and continue to do this unless you notice an obvious reaction in your baby to a particular food. There is no such thing as a "LIST OF FOODS THAT BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS SHOULD NOT EAT" because most nursing moms can eat anything they want, and because the babies who are sensitive to certain foods are each unique - what bothers one may not bother another. If you have a family history of allergies, you might want to avoid certain foods (for example, peanuts or dairy), but again, this would be different for every child."

Try to avoid spicy foods, and very acidic foods. Of course, if you normally eat spicy foods, then your baby will be used to it from time in the womb, so it would be okay. basically, just follow a sensible, healthy diet with lots of vegies fruit, protein, complex carbs, iron etc. Keep taking the pregnancy supplement too.

There is no specific list of foods that all mothers should abstain from while nursing. If you notice that your child has a reaction to a specific food, then cut it out.

The main thing is to avoid alot of caffeine or alcohol. But other than that, you just have to watch your child and see if they are reacting badly to the breastmilk. If you see that it is bothering them or upsetting their stomach then try to stay away from that food.
