Pregnancy & Parenting - 30 December 2007

I am pregnant with my first and due any day now. My husband is the only one I want in the delivery room with me, I prefer to be left alone. But our family members are driving me crazy thinking this is going to be a TV birth and they will all need to rush to the hospital as soon as I go into labor. How can I tell them I dont want any visitors while Im in labor, and after I will need some alone time with the baby to nurse and recover. Ive told them all its going to take several hours and there will be no reason to rush, but they dont seem to get it. I dont want a million people around, I dont want people holding my baby untill shes had bonding time with myslef and my husband and Im going to need REST after! This is both of our parents first grandchild, and I want them to be involved, but I just dont want the stress of dealing with visitors when Im in pain and tired, what can I do? I dont want to sound selfish, but dont want to snap in front of everyone, please help?!

We've narrowed our name ideas down to a few for each gender, and we're finding out the the gender in 3 weeks, hopefully. Just wondering what you guys think sounds the nicest. I'm not due until Spring but we want to pick a name so we have time to make sure we really like it.

I've been living with my girlfriend (and her daugher from a previous marriage) for a year. The little girl looks forward to me giving her a bath and I feel like its a way for us to bond. To me it seems perfectly normal and we are both totally comfortable with it. I shampoo her hair and scrub her body with soap....but a friend of my girlfriend (not exactly an ideal parent in my opinion) claims that its wrong for a male to give a 4 yr old female a bath. Any thoughts.......?

ok....i was supposed to start my period on dec 22nd...i started spotting very lightly, no cramping on the 23rd, it lasted for 5 days dark pink, light pink to brown...i didnt even have to wear anything at all, it wasnt consitant but it would come and go...well, my Q is this...what position is your cervix supposed to be in after your done with your period??? high? low? soft? hard? before my period or what i thought was my period it was high and tightly closed, and softer than normal...when i was spotting it was lower and hard...towards the end of my spotting it was really really high, tightly closed and kinda soft again, and still is...so after your period where should it be????? please help me understand =) thank you sooooo much in advance!!!! no rude answers please, and thank you's!!!!

Is there anyone out there who eats right all day, every day? I try my best to eat well, but sometimes I just go with what's convienient, especially if I am really hungry. I take vitamins too.

But who really eats well and cuts all the bad stuff. (caffine, soda, sweets, processed foods, etc.)

My friend works an after school care program with troubled teens, & 1 of the girls is very disrespectful, so my friend had to put her in her place. The girl was 6 mos. pregnant & she's 15. She supposedly had a miscarriage 3 days ago. Now her parents want to take my friend to court for murder. I know this is strange, but the girl's parents are druggies. The girl states that my friend stressed her out & made her lose her baby. The girl would get into arguments with my friend & then say, "Ouch, now my baby hurt!", & she would hold her stomach.

I remember when I was 9, my foster cousin-in-law (I was a foster kid) was pregnant, & my foster mom was on vacation & I missed her. They KNEW I was an emotionally disturbed kid. But the woman said it was my fault & I caused her to lose her baby by stressing her out. I didn't do it on purpose.

I suffer anxiety, OCD, Tourette's, & depression, & many people say I would either die giving birth or have a miscarriage before then. I'm scared.
