My friend works an after school care program with troubled teens, & 1 of the girls is very disrespectful, so my friend had to put her in her place. The girl was 6 mos. pregnant & she's 15. She supposedly had a miscarriage 3 days ago. Now her parents want to take my friend to court for murder. I know this is strange, but the girl's parents are druggies. The girl states that my friend stressed her out & made her lose her baby. The girl would get into arguments with my friend & then say, "Ouch, now my baby hurt!", & she would hold her stomach.

I remember when I was 9, my foster cousin-in-law (I was a foster kid) was pregnant, & my foster mom was on vacation & I missed her. They KNEW I was an emotionally disturbed kid. But the woman said it was my fault & I caused her to lose her baby by stressing her out. I didn't do it on purpose.

I suffer anxiety, OCD, Tourette's, & depression, & many people say I would either die giving birth or have a miscarriage before then. I'm scared.

Your friend was not the cause of the teenager's miscarriage and cannot be charged with murder or even manslaughter, provided she did not physically injure this girl. What you describe does not even amount to an assault by your friend. If I were in her position, I would document the threats, if any, made by the teenager and her parents and be prepared to file either a civil or criminal complaint against her/them if necessary.

An OB/GYN can give you could information about the additional risks, if any, that anxiety, depression and OCD pose to your health whether you are pregnant or not. I think it's obviously the case that pervasive anxiety wears a person out, which affects the effectiveness of your immune system, and may cause an increase in blood pressure, which negatively impacts your overall health.

You should talk to your primary care physician about the ways a healthy diet and regular exercise can help you offset the effects of anxiety and depression.

Good luck in 2008.

well extreme stress or anxiety can cause a miscarriage but I think in those two cases the woman are just being spiteful , I suffer from anxiety very bad and am about to have a healthy baby Im very confident that I will not die during labor I am however scared of what I am about to go through but pregnancy alone will break alot of your anxieties but I dont think that a person in your mental state should be having a baby when you are going through that you will make your child be the same way work on getting yourself mentally ready first.

My father emotionally abused my Mum and she had an abortion and then a miscarriage before she had me. Yes, stress can kill both parties.

Yes, absolutely true. My mum had a miscarriage on the spot when as a child I jumped in front of a bus. I wasn't heart.

Extreme stress can but I doubt you did this to the other person. My friend's boyfriend died when she was pregnant and they where worried about her, but she had a very healthy baby.
