Here's the deal. Last week my big sis announced to the family (my parents, me and our bros) That she is 3 months pregnant. (My sis is only 17). My parents although a little mad said that they will be there for her. My bros (aged 19, 18 and 16) have gotten even more overprotective of ME than usual. I haven't done anything wrong. What are their motives...... They won't even allow me a bf.

Please do not call my sister a stupid cow. We are a respect(ed/ful) family and everybody makes a mistake sometime in life. She says that they did infact use a condom, it just spilt.

My sis is not a ****, she did use a condom (well she didn't he did!).
I'm only 15 and where I live boys don't go for girls for sex.

getting pregnant at 17 is NOT just a little mistake... its taking somebody elses life into your hands.. its not exactly good...she nodoubt does not own a home... probably has no money in the bank for education (it takes years of saving to send a kid to college most people start saving BEFORE even having a kid) and so on.. so DO NOT trivialize it as "no big deal" it is a serious deal.. your sister will suffer from it in the long run.. tied to this burden for her life and the life of the kid (that is if she decides to keep it.. which would NOT be in the best interst of the baby)
your parents are probably more than a little mad.. they are probably deeply saddened and disappointed - although unable to show that... basically your sisters life is over.. and the kid doesnt have much of a future either...
no you havent done anything wrong... but still at least they care about you... maybe if somebody had cared more about your sister she wouldnt be in this mess...
seems like your family is big.. I suspect too many kids is part of the reason sister got pregnant.. she wanted attention for herself tired of having so many siblings.. didnt feel loved...

I think it because they are still trying to get over the shock that your sister is pregnant at the age of 17 and they are trying to prevent you from doing the same thing.
They don't want you getting into a situation where you too end up pregnant quite young. They feel they have your best interests at heart and are not allowing you to get close to a boy to prevent you from having sex.
Just give it a few more weeks for news to die down a little and if still overprotective just talk to them and show them you can be trusted and that you won't fall pregnant too young.

It is because they don't want you to go down the same road as your sister. They will be worried that because your sis is having sex that you will think it is ok to too. Your family will be going through a lot at the mo. I know - my 17 year old daughter has just told us that she is pregnant too. We are going through all range of emotions. Disappointment, worried that she is not ready to have a child, worried whether the father will stand by her and yet still trying to support her through whatever decision she makes. It is really hard at the moment, as I am sure it is for your family too. Just be patient with them, they are only looking out for you.

ignore people callin your sister a stupid cow she is certanitlly not people have judgements like that which is wrong your family will protect you as you are the youngest and they probably are scared you may do the same thing everthing will be fine soon once the dust has settled just be care ful

natural instincts. no offence, but to compare your family with perhaps a lion pride, or some sort of other animals, wolves, polar bears, apes . . and more.
the males like to protect there family of any upcoming danger.. for example, boyfriends that may break hearts aswell as other things. they are only now perhaps looking after you more, because there is no other to look after.. perhaps they feel that your sister is all grown up, and is about to be a mother.

I got pregnant at 17, my mum was not over the moon either but like you say they are there for us, I went on to have a beautiful daughter, who is now 15, i went on to have another 5 children, it doesn't have to be the end of your life and at least when the child is older your sis is still young to have her life, you want to thank your lucky stars they are there for you and are looking out for you, just treat them well. they will soon get bored!

They just want to protect u from making the same mistake as ur sister did. Ur eldest bro may feel a filure as he obviously didn't do enough to stop ur sis from making this mistake. Just sit them down and talk to them, let them know that u want a bf and if u do decide to have sex u will be extra careful and if ur not already on the pill or got the implant tell them that u will have the implant or either go on the pill that way at least they know that even though their lil sis is growing up and making this desicion ur protcting ur self at the same time.....good luck all the best for 2008......kizza...xox ignore all the geeks out there calling ur sister a s.l.u.t cause she isnt everybody makes mistakes dont worry things will settle down just talk to ur familly and it will all be fine

Childbirth is a natural thing.You must not supress this event and be happy knowing that soon you and your family will know love only that a baby can bring.The lack of understanding brings on the fear you have.Carry on your life as normal it is your life not your brothers.

they feel that you might too get pregnant and know that it's not right for a teenage to have a child. Your sister is still growing up.
My advice to you is to be honest with them and your intentions with relationships. do you want a boyfriend? do you want a baby now? are you going to have safe sex? they need reassurance.
