Why would you. MTV is for trashy ghetto people.

my children are 6 and 4mths, if they had music videos then I probably would, and change the channel if really bad one came on, but since its mostly reality trash shows, no, they are much happier watching, veggie tales, clifford, or curious george. I don't think she would even want to watch it if I let her, she's just not into that kind of stuff, she's more into cartoons, and learning shows, like discovery channel and history channel, we do sensor what she watches and hears, and for the first two years of her life, we didn't even have tv, we just didn't feel that she needed it, and worked more on going to the park, and playing games, and crafts and toys, she is in the gifted classes now, and works at a 3rd grade level, she's a little bummed, because we are doing the same with our new baby, and so we got her a tv for her room, but she usually comes downstairs to be with the family instead of watching tv, anyway, her sister is 4mths, and we don't use tv for her, and she is developing faster, she is already sitting up and playing with toys, so, its not just MTV, but tv in general, I try to steer my children to more productive things then mindless tv.

I don't even watch MTV anymore. Back in the 1980's and most of the 1990's, it was a pretty cool network. Now it deals with a bunch of half twitted urban trash reality shows.

My child watches mtv. He isnt gonna see anything on mtv that he wont see in the real world anyway....this way, at least if he has questions or concerns he can ask me without it being a serious problem

I do let my son watch mtv because he loves music! Its good for them! He loves to dance and he actually learned to dance from mtv. If there is a show on mtv that you dont approve of then just change the channel to a music channel. But dont stop the music in your childs life, its wonderful for them.

No, it's too inappropriate. Besides, my son is only three. I'd rather put on music of our own that has no cursing or bad messages in it and let him dance around to that.

Do you ever think about sitting down with your kids, turning off the TV, and hitting them?

No, I don't let them watch any "music" channels.
MTV is crap nowadays. I should know - I remember when it was launched! Back then it really was all about the music.

No. I am very picky about what my children watch on t.v. They find enough trouble on their own, then have to get ideas from the eat your brain tube.
