My son (10) and stepson (12) are constantly fighting. I know that this will probably continue from now on, but it is getting rediculous. They compete over who can get me or my husband something we ask for the quickest, then the one who didnt get it first complains "I was going to get it." They fight over what toy belongs to who. Each tattles on the other all the time. I am to the point of just hiding in my room and never coming out. I know I cant make them completely stop fighting, but how do I at least control it better, and what is a good punishment that would teach them to get along better?

Please go to the web site www.letssaythanks.com . You can pick
out a thank you card and the Xerox Corporation will print it and it will be
sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out
who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. It is
FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers
received a bunch of these?

I had a baby almost a year ago (September 4th) I have had 3 periods. My first period was April 15th (I was on the pill at this time) 2nd period was May 15th (still on the pill at this time) I went off of the pill because it was making me feel terrible and just thought I would use condoms for Birth control My last period was June 28th. When I am not on the pill I have a 40 - 50 day cycle (I am pretty irregular, but also pretty fertile). My husband and I had sex about 5 days after my period w/o a condom (I did not think I would be fertile being my 10th day of my cycle and having a 40 - 50 day cycle). Well now I have been spotting lightly (mucus tinged w/ blood) for the past 4-5 days. Every once in a while I feel a little crampy. My breast are not tender and I feel great and full of energy. (I was tired and sick with my last 2 pregnancies.). I took a preg test on Sunday and it was negative. What is this spotting? Could I be pregnant. What else could this spotting mean.

I've tried everything. Putting him on the potty with a timer, offering smarties if he sits - he tells me to eat them. Offering to buy him Superman - he tells me he doesn't him. I'm losing my patience and I just don't know what to do next. He's absolutely not interested and would rather wear a diaper. He'll be starting pre-k in about a month and I would love to send him with underwear but it doesn't seem likes it's going to happen. My other two children were not this difficult. I need some advice - HELP!

I babysit a group of my neices and nephews on a regulat basis. When I have two of my nephews, Alex, and Jacob both age 5, they like to play violent war like games. They call it superheros. When they pretend to be good guys like Power Rangers, they are willing to use as much force to take down the bad guys as they need. The "bad guys" always get hurt. The main problem is the bad guys are usually a younger boy or a girl. The bad guys have no choice, but to play. The boys will just come up and jump on them. I try to explain that this behavoir isn't nice, and they shouldn't do it. But they insist that this is okay because they are good guys. Help! How can i stop war games?

I'm a little curious. I remember reading before that the doctor will use a hook or his/her fingernail to break the sac. But something I read recently said that the sac is extremely difficult to puncture. Will a doctor actually try to just use a fingernail or something or do they always use the hook?

I really love reading birth stories, especially home & water births! Hospital births are beautiful, too. Please share your story here & I'll give the 10 points to the one that is most detailed or heartwarming. Thanks so much! Have fun!! :)

Ok before i start i know alot of people are going to say you should have not got pregnant,it's your fault and your dumb well i know i should have been more careful i am simply asking about my boyfriend. Last night i was talking to my boyfriend and he was mad at me. He said some awful things to me. Like never to ask him for help because he was tired of helping me, and he was not going to help me anymore because i put myself into situations. He also said that he does not care at all about my pregnancy and thats why he did not go to the hospital when i was bleeding, and that he does not care what happens to the baby because it's a fetus not a baby he says (im 6 months by the way). Also he said im not a normal person and he basically called me a loser last night im really hurt about this and part of me just wants to say screw him because i could do way better....what do you guys think i should say to my boyfriend and do about him thanks everyone!!

sorry about the spelling!

My son likes grapes, bananas, and peaches. That's about it for fruit, but that's a decent variety. Vegetables? I've tried small pieces of broccoli w/butter, glazed baby carrots, potatoes, etc. and he's not interested in any of them. However, he'll still eat Stage 2 vegetables from a jar (peas, mixed vegetables etc.) I give him those now just to ensure he gets his veggies. Any ideas as to how I can prepare vegetables in such a way that he'll like them? Note - He doesn't have much of a sweet tooth (thankfully). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

My husbands ex gave him custody of their son. I am having to take over as him "mom", by providing for him, taking him to appointments and setting down rules. I usually expect my husband to deal with her, (phone calls or asking for things that we need like my stepsons SS card or birth certificate). However I know that one day I will probably need to speak to her, (if my husband is at work or forgets or just plain doesnt want to speak to her). Since I am taking over her parenting (and yes I feel I am since she has not asked to see her son in over 2 months) I think she should have to deal with me whether she wants to or not. If she doesnt want to she shouldn't have sent her son to live in our home. Do you agree?
