Denise? I think you mean Denis, and it was very likely ADHD and poor parenting.
Or maybe he really was Denise and he was a she! The enforced masquerade led to those outbursts of troubling behavior. My God, you've done it! You've found the sordid secret of sitcoms past!

Well, considering his father is always exhausted from work, I feel that his father may have resorted to achoholism to releive his stress. His mother also is stressed out, and she feels underapprciated. She tells the father hes a bum, and the father resorts to violence. Denis has never had a good role model, which will eventually lead him to a life in and out of prison for armed robberies and car hijackings
