The real divide, the separation that may matter more to the future of American democracy, is between the political junkies and everyone else. The junkies watch endless cable-TV news shows and listen to angry talk radio and feel passionate about their political views. They number roughly 20 percent of the population, according to Princeton professor Markus Prior, who tracks political preferences and the media. Then there's all the rest: the people who prefer ESPN or old movies or videogames or Facebook or almost anything on the air or online to politics.
I find in my life that this is pretty true. Are you a junkie? Do most of your family and friends feel as you do?

He was making all kinds of threats toward Israel and the US occupation in Iraq but no mention of Bhutto?

2007-12-30 13:58:00 · 10 answers · asked by Enigma 6

I noticed no one much is talking about the video tape put out just a couple of days ago where he supposedly threatened Israel (blood for blood) this time. Have we just become so accustomed to hearing him spout out threats that no one is even listening anymore? Is OBL in Pakistan alive and well or could he threatening to use Pakistani nukes against Israel to get the US to pull back in Iraq?
Conservatives....If he is alive what is the reasoning behind not bombing every cave between Afganistan and Pakistan to end this reign of the king of terror?

Okay some of you wont agree with the premise of the question, but those of you that do accept and agree, I'm asking why? What happenned? I'm asking the question because to me it seems like a very important event in our country for the media and a major American political party to lose its and be out of touch!

If we live in a free country, where we are allowed to practice our beliefs. Why deny someone else the same privelige?

I'm a Conservative and I don't agree with the act of homosexuality, but what right under the constitution do I have to deny others their freedom to live as they choose? Are rights only for those I agree with? What about those who don't agree with Christianity or anything else you like to do? What will you say when people want to ban them?
In the Bible I've read I didn't see Jesus running around trying to ban things and control what people did. In fact he associated with publicans and sinners. If he came back today would you also lynch him like they did?

Why not just leave other people alone and work on being the best example you can be.

I hear so many people complain about that % of people who are addicted to social services.

The problem I have with it is that there aren't many other solutions offered.

What if anything is that implication

Where did it come from and so forth

Higher murder rates. Dangerous. Terrible education systems. Rampant drug use. High unemployment. High poverty.

What does this say about Democrats when they control the government?

Prime Minister - since leadership is always best by example I put it to you that 1/3 of your wages be reduced and given to the troops - as we the tax payers are paying in our taxes we need you also to pay in your wages

Our Cdn costs are low -

So it should of course follow when your wages are reduced by 33 % the President of the US will want to reduce his wages by 2/3 of it's present weekly net

Oh and Prime Minister since the wage is given to you by us - it should be us that tells you - your pay has been cut

I would like to be number one on that list of people -

Prime Minister as our employee we need to reduce your wages for the war in Afganistan

To listen to some of the people here at Y/A you'd think many of them think the Extremists and Liberals are one in the same, when in actuality it is the far right conservatives who more resemble what the Muslim Extremists represent. The Muslims just have a different God than the Christian right.

Both the Muslim Extremists and the Christian right want to exclude, do away with, or convert anyone not like them!

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Wouldn't the way it's worded mean that anybody who wants to bear arms must be a member of a well regulated militia? So are all you gun owners in a militia? Doesn't the "well regulated" part mean that the government can regulate which arms people can bear, and which citizens can bear them? Is this how the government can justify banning weapons like stinger missiles and automatic machine guns from the people, and they can ban criminals and people with mental illnesses from owning them? If the government can make it illegal for me to own a stinger missile can they also make it illegal for me to own a handgun? What if they want to ban all guns and only allow swords?
