I keep hearing them complain about people wanting handouts, and they always bring up the fictional "welfare queen." Don't they know the system was reformed 11 years ago? The way it is set up now a person can't receive welfare for more than 5 years, and in most states you have to have a job to receive benefits. The fact is the issue was resolved back in 1996 so there is no reason to keep harping on this issue. Maybe you should spend more time complaining about corporate welfare.

I don't think legislating gun regulations means anyone is trying to keep those who can own firearms from having them.

Some people aren't supposed to own firearms and I think creating waiting periods to ensure legal ownership should be accepted by law abiding citizens.

Is there a link to some credible organized group trying to take weapons ownership from U.S. citizens?

Don't you realize if thats true they have all of the power?

Yet if you take charge of your own life and future, you have all of the power.

Why are people so quick to give up the power over their lives to someone else?

I just watched it. I tried to keep an open mind. Question, are his "facts" true? Did he lie? Can you prove that the film was false? I don't want to split hairs on details, Looking for the big picture on this. I know he probably took statistical license, but doesn't everybody when they present a case?

If most of what he says is real, then we have a probelm. Is most of what he says real?

I think there might be some 1/2 way decent reps out there but for the most part aren't Republicans and Democrats alike NOT being served or represented adequately by their elected(?) officials?

I think there is entirely too much scandal and corruption across the board.

The thing is though .....Republicans IMO are getting the shorter end of the stick. For instance I think decent and respectable conservatives like some of the people I know are appalled at the actions of many of the most public officials like Larry Craig and Vitter and Foley and Bush and Cheney among others.

So I guess it's which is the better of the not good enough? Sad!

The majority of the Bush administrations tax cuts have always been aimed at the upper 10%, especially to upper 2%, and of course, the corporate world.

We have a corporate welfare president.

One of the major consequences of outsourcing is a lack of manufactering jobs in the US. And, everyday, more high tech jobs go to India and China. (Where manufactering goes, high tech is going to eventually follow).

This has produced some serious consequences:

We have an increased gap between the upper 2%, and the rest of population that grows each year.

You need a strong middle class, I think for a strong economy.

Your thoughts? And what are the consequences of this?

Those who object to the teaching of evolution feel that it contradicts their interpretation of the Bible, and want students to be taught "all of the theories" of how the world started, am I right?
Well, creationism isn't a theory that is backed up with any scientific facts, but let's throw them a bone and put it on par with evolution. What about Hindu creation myths? Native American creation myths? The ancient Greek tale of the titans?

Every president that has ever been in office has left something in the white house for future presidents to use or keep in the white house. Why did Bush jr. take the solar panels that ecologically-green Jimmy Carter left on the white house? I think this shows just how stubbornly convservative and close-minded Bush is.
