i'm no longer a "Bible thumper" yet I do evaluate myself a Christian. i've got faith that the Bible is a e book of information written with the help of fellows. they could write in easy terms what they knew---the two because of the fact of their places in time and area or their means to appreciate. merely because of the fact the believers of different religions shaped rational factors for phenomena they did no longer totally understand, so did the Christians. no person has ever stated that the Bible is an entire historic previous of the worldwide. i think of that a theory in God and Creationism and a theory in evolution are no longer together unique, as long as you settle for that each and each understand the Bible is to no longer be taken actually.

No, a lot of us are embarrassed by those bible thumpers who claim to speak for us. I believe that my religious beliefs are personal and that how I live my life should express what I believe. So I practice old fashioned values, disapprove of bumps and grinds on the Disney channel for twelve year olds, and practice my religion quietly. Seems to me there is a parable about that.....

The mistake a lot of conservatives make is to ONLY give the religious case for family values when there is logical case that can easily be made.
The family is the cornerstone of a healthy society and all the stats (juvenile crime etc) show this.

You need to enter the 21st century. Casual sex is the world's greatest form of recreation.
(Congratulations on NOT being a fundie, though. That's a good step in the right direction!)

Far from the only person who does not thump a Bible, yet has conservative values. I would say most conservatives that I know are this way.

I'm all in favor of finding a system to keep children from seeing such sexually explicit or graphically violent images on their own. However, IMO consenting adults in private have the right to do pretty much as they please as they are, in a pretty direct way, violating the rights of others. The key, as I see it, it to keep it private.
