I actually think they're more concerned about libs trying to steal Christmas and the true meaning of Christmas. The birth of Christ, one of the most liberal voices in history, is the real reason for Christmas. Not some guy in a red suit. They simply want the origins of the holiday to be respected.
By the way, I've never voted Republican in my life. But I am a Christian and Christmas is the most important holiday on the Christmas calender. It deserves just as much respect as Rhamadan or any other religious holiday.

The secular progressives that O'Reilly rails against are attempting to take all traces of religion, especially Christianity, out of local, state, and federal govts. They are also attempting to equate other year end holidays with Christmas, such as Kwanzaa and the Muslim holiday. These libs have intimidated people so much that they are afraid to say Merry Christmas for fear of offending some anti-Christian idiot.
As for me, I will say Merry Christmas, not the bland, Happy Holidays. Merry Christmas to you and a happy new year.

Republicans don't claim that. Some do claim that secular progressives are trying to give Christmas the axe, which makes some amount of sense. On the local network where I am, they say "Happy Holidays," "Happy Hanukkah," and "Happy Kwanzaa," but no "Merry Christmas."

A handful of people are protesting that Christmas gets too much attention and before you know the media has got it all covered.

The only ones I ever heard say it were Dems when trying to defend themselves, as in "We are not trying to steal Santa" or "Are you saying we are stealing Christmas?" Hey they bring it up...

It's desperation. The "divide and conquer tactic" to garner support. I don't agree with some who try to take away Christmas decorations in public areas, etc., but you can't blame liberals/Dems for that.

Could you please define which republicans are saying this? Surely you don't think that all republicans espouse this absurd idea. In fact I'll bet you that for every republican that you can show me that does think this.... I can show you a democrat that does also.
