First, I don't care that Romney is Mormon, nor do I care about any other candidate's religion, BUT I would like to know if it informs them on policy issues and if so how? I think that is legitimate. Also, there IS a separation of church and state inasmuch as we don't want our President or Congress beholden to anyone except for the People (us).

So, with that said, Tim Russert asked Romney whether he thought that the Mormon Church's policy of denying African-Americans the right to practice their religion until the late 1970s was wrong, Romney refused to denounce the Church's policy as to not offend his Church...that I have a BIG problem with. If you asked any of the Christian candidates was it right for their Churches to justify slavery, I would hope that most would denounce that practice. So, if Romney couldn't openly denounce overt racism by his Church to not offend them, how can we expect he'll answer to us and not the Mormon Church.?

Not trying to slam Arkansas but it alone with Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and a few others have always remained in fiscal ruin. It isn't due to the citizens who are able bodied and willing.

This is my biggest arguement against neo-conservative fiscal policies. Their states have always been poor, which to me is an issue of leadership and direction, not an issue of the residents themselves other than they continue to vote in the same type of politicians every time. Your thoughts on this... AND (without insults) please offer a counter explanation as I am open for discussion.

In a letter to Bush on Thursday, Pelosi and Reid urged him "to make every effort to ensure" that the 23 million families who will benefit from AMT relief "receive their refund in a timely manner."

If Americans face delays in the getting their tax refunds this year, Democratic leaders want them to blame the Bush administration -- even though the Democrat-led Congress caused the problem.

But Congress did not pass AMT relief in a timely matter. it wasn't the very last minute -- that Congress finally passed a temporary fix for the Alternative Minimum Tax, a levy that increasingly ensnares the middle class.

But Pelosi and Reid said the IRS should have anticipated what Congress would end up doing. What?

After spending the last several years wringing their hands and daily pummeling us with the doom and gloom that they saw in Iraq, why isn't the unbiased media not cheering our successes and reporting the progress with as much gusto? Is it because blood is exciting and success is bad for business or is this an agenda thing? If they admit we're succeeding, do they then have to admit that they were wrong in their armchair predictions of our failure?

Congressional Democrats have finally tired of fighting for surrender and will pressure Pelosi and Reid to end the battles over Iraq war funding.

Pelosi and Reid, despite their pledges to continue pushing to end the war in Iraq, face growing pressure from their rank-and-file Democrats to focus more attention on domestic, “pocketbook” issues in the upcoming election year.

The last Senate vote on this subject came this week, and only half of his caucus opposed the new Iraq war funding. In the House, 78 Democrats supported the funding measure.

Harry Reid promised instead to have another string of continuous votes on the issue, promising to put the "pedal to the metal".

He may want to check the gas tank first.

What say you?

Witness the drama at Bali as news emerges that something is not quite right in the global warming camp.

With only few days remaining in 2007, the indications are the global temperature for this year is the same as that for 2006 – there has been no warming over the 12 months.

The fact is that the global temperature of 2007 is statistically the same as 2006 as well as every year since 2001. Global warming has, temporarily or permanently, ceased. Temperatures across the world are not increasing as they should according to the fundamental theory behind global warming – the greenhouse effect. Something else is happening and it is vital that we find out what or else we may spend hundreds of billions of pounds needlessly.
Some media commentators say that the science of global warming is now beyond doubt and those who advocate alternative approaches or indeed modifications to the carbon dioxide greenhouse warming effect had lost the scientific argument. Not so.

I find that I honestly don't believe that America is ready to support Hillary Clinton or O'bama. I don't believe Edwards has much of a chance either.
I do like Biden or any other Democratic nominee. I refuse to vote Republican because I believe that they are the reason this country has deminished in stature and is in immenent danger from Russia or China or any other large country with nuclear capabilities,... and that includes Pakistan.
thanks
