Why do people think that when you ask a question you are making a statement, i ask questions so i can learn how other people view the status of our nation.

Maybe, but not really. The conservatives ignored us and they got voted out of the House and Senate.

Taxation without representation is a crime! We elect leaders who we think align with our value system and will lead as such. When they then promote their own agendas and not that of their constituents, it's a problem.

Representatives are to represent, not by proxy, but definitely, ethically, by advancing the agenda of the people who put him/her in office.

It seems that more and more that conservatives are brainwashing people into believing horse poop like this. Do you conservatives realize that party that you back would prefer that people of certain ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds NOT have a voice in this government? In the late seventies right wing think tanks devised ways to brainwash Americans into believing the same kind of claptrap that you are spouting. Why brainwash middle America? Because they feared that middle and low income people were beginning to want political recognition. This was not in the best interest of the elite and had to be stopped.

WE DON'T LIVE IN A DEMOCRACY!

The US has never been a democracy! It is a Republic with democratically elected representatives.

I am so tired of people saying it! Yes, I'm glad that the will of the people is not the only concern for politicians. "The people" are flighty, apathetic, and lack a true perspective. Just look at the way a lot of people don't even know the first President of our nation or don't vote.

It shows Bush's leadership style of not following the polls like Kerry or Clinton would is the best way to do it.

If you're right, you're right. Doesn't matter if 10 or 100% of the people agree with you.

As an American, you should be ashamed for making that statement. A democracy is based on opinions, which may not be like yours, but a will that is good for the whole society.

Maybe you should re-locate to a country where they tell you what to do and discipline people who disagree.

True, but this is not a very good sampling of America.
