I see this happening all the time in the american political arena. It just seem that it is easy to talk about peace and sanity, but when it comes down to crunch time, it seems the forces of darkness always win out..no matter what was said all along or what the people said in an election ..etc....why is that? It just seems that whenever you think you have the warmongers in corner and sanity is about to surface, that a few slogans can be repeated, a few alerts announced and a few overly optimistic generals spew some misinformation and bingo....we are signed on again for another 6 months.

For more than two centuries, Wahhabism has been Saudi Arabia's dominant faith. It is an austere form of Islam that insists on a literal interpretation of the Koran. Strict Wahhabis believe that all those who don't practice their form of Islam are heathens and enemies. Critics say that Wahhabism's rigidity has led it to misinterpret and distort Islam, pointing to extremists such as Osama bin Laden and the Taliban. Wahhabism's explosive growth began in the 1970s when Saudi charities started funding Wahhabi schools (madrassas) and mosques from Islamabad to Culver City, California.

I have never had a feeling politicaly that did not spring from the Declaration of Independance...that which gave promise that in due time the weights should be lifted from the shoulders of all men, and that all men should have an equal chance...Now, my friends, can this country be saved upon that basis?...If this country cannot be saved without giving up on that principle.....I would rather be assassinated on this spot than surrender to it.

I thought this is interesting, and an opportunity for some of the all knowing pundits to put your money where your mouth is:

As of November, Clinton is a 1 to 3 shot to win the presidency according to Sportsbook.com and Linesmaker (meaning you bet $3 and win $1 if she wins plus the original $3 back).

The sites all rate Giuliani likely to win the GOP nomination but behind Clinton for the presidency. He is a 5 to 1 shot on Sportsbook and Linesmaker. In other words, Bodog would give you $9 for every $4 you bet.

Sportsbook has Obama at 7 to 2. Rating the rest of the field, Bodog offers 6 to 1 for Thompson, 8 to 1 for Romney, 14 to 1 for Edwards and 16 to 1 for McCain.

Why is Las Vegas betting hard on Hillary?

I have noticed that Fox News is asking Huckabee and other GOP candidates hard questions filled with criticism. Hannity did a special with Guliani that was filled with cupcake questions that gave him plenty of opportunity to smile for the cameras. Why exactly are they pulling for Guliani? If public opinion of him continues to fall, who will be their next choice?

I have to say I think if Hillary was a man there'd be a lot less heat and hateful words said about her. Look around here, there are more comments about her looks then any of her policies, if these people even know them. When is the last time we saw a male candidates looks brought into question as a reason to vote for him?

No instead we see 'I won't vote for her because she has cankles' If that had anything to do with the role of President.

I believe the war in Iraq was the right thing to do.
