This would assume someone like Micheal Moore would be running the country. If such people had been running the country then Japan wouldn't have even needed to attack Pearl Harbor. Why, because they would have dismantled the army,navy and air force to the point it would no longer have been a threat to Japan, or Germany. Japan would have been able to conquer territories in the Pacific knowing that the US wouldn't get involved.

So you think FDR was not a lefty. Open a history book and start reading about FDR. He was supported by many lefties in Congress or there would not have been the recovery from the Depression that we had. So what would have happened when Pearl Harbor was bombed did happen because lefties were in control.

I think they would have done what was necessary. Liberals do not how ever think that the war in Iraq was called for. It was based on lies. They think we should have only went after those responsible for 911. I think we have to clean up the mess we made and at the same time hold those responsible for the mess accountable for their actions.

are you trying to compare Iraq to WWII??? There is no comparison.
Today's "lefties" would take the appropriate action just like they would have taken the appropriate action following 9-11. Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. How many times does this have to be proven.

He wasn't. Modern liberalism didn't exist at that time. FDR would disagree with 95% of the democrat platform today. Social security was never intended to become what it is today.
Besides if you claim FDR was a liberal you realize you contradict yourself when you make the "parties switched places" argument right?

Joe H, FDR was pretty liberal, the New Deal was a huge social program that actually worked. He put millions to work building roads, dams, national park buildings, trails, etc. He was also the one to realize that we needed to enter the war and he did a good job dealing with it, too.
