It's easier to destroy a bridge than to build one. It also doesn't require as much mental power either. Hence our current situation.

Because the insane warmongering folks have successfully used nationalism on their side. In many ways, for them, it's like fighting a crusade. Just look at bill labelling and operation labelling that tries to tie itself in to nationalism.. but is anythying but..
1. Patriot Act - in a country founded upon individual rights, this act actually counteracts those rights... Patriotic to you?
2. Operation Iraqi Freedom - By destroying a nation that had absolutley nothing to do with 9/11, and pretty much bringing that country to civil war. Sounds like a noble cause indeed.
3. Operation Enudring Freedom - Afghanistan sure seems free to me after US forces bombed and ran.
all of these policies and wars have nothing to do with US nationalism. In fact, in all intensive purposes it insults the principles the United STates was founded on. However, these folks have very successfully used this ploy. They've made it seem like if you don't agree with them,.. you are being unpatriotic. It's nothing new really, lots of politicians in many countries do this. It doesn't make it just though.
That's why it's important for critical thinkers to relaly look at the situation and label it what it is. There's a reason these guys pull nationalist heart strings... that's the only source of support they have. Without that, how could they justify what they're doing?
Pointing out flaws and injustice is not being un-patriotic.. it's being patriotic as far as I'm concerned.

In many cases war is the only answer. War was the answer to British rule, it was the answer to how to end slavery, it was what blunted and help defeat Communism in the soviet unions and eastern Europe, it ended fascism in the 1940's, it stopped the communist takeover of S Korea in the 1950's, and brought down Saddam just a few years ago. Other than those things, you might have a point that it is useless, but than again we can't be sure because life as we know it would not exist

Show me a sane peace maker and maybe I'll be able to answer this. Look at the hippies in the 60's, they wanted peace, but we're anything but sane. Today, it's kind of a watered down anti-establishment movement that very few care about, the lunancy is still there.

I have been trying to figure that out for years. The only conclusion I can come to is they have been grabbing money and power for so long, they now are in total control. They also are capable of anything, they will lie, cheat, steal, kill, with no conscience.

Warmongers bring the peace the peace makers wish for. Peace makers have no purpose if there is peace already.
