Why do you think Bush has "no recollection" of being told about the CIA interrogation tape destruction?

"Bush did not recall being told about the interrogation tapes or their destruction before he was briefed by Hayden on Thursday, she said. "He has no recollection of being made aware of the tapes or their destruction before yesterday."

Why wouldn't they just say he wasn't informed? When someone in the Bush Admin says "I don't recall", usually it means "it happened but I'm not going to admit it".

Do you think Bush honestly doesn't recall whether he was informed about this, or is he simply refusing to admit it? Or are members of the Bush Admin so used to saying "I don't recall" that it's the default answer?

If the Dems Lose in the Next Presidential Election....?

Do you think there will be another Whine fest about Republicans cheating at the polls, denying blacks, minorities, and old people access to the polls?....Why does this always happen when Dems lose and never happens when Republicans lose? I never hear a peep from the left when they win....
Im an Independant voter....leaning Conservative, but I vote my Conscience....not the party line.... How many of you notice this phenomenon and think it will occur if the DEMS lose again?
I find all the whining amusing... but I would like YOUR opinion on the topic.... think it will happen again?

What do you think of this Gallup Poll data?

Would we ever 'fight' the terrosit here?

I hear the phrase "We fight them over there, so we don't have to fight them here"........"If we leave, the terrorists will follow us home."

The 'terrorists' I see on TV and in the news would appear to be guys in sweat pants and sandals who really don't like us. I understand they have the capability to attack the country (9/11), but to say we would have to 'fight' them over here, isn't that a little misleading? It would seem we're fighting what we've characterized, in essence, as a 'terrorist army'....while the terrorists (individuals who adhere to a religious fundamentalist ideology) are hell bent on crippling our financial institutions, cuz money is power. So wouldn't spending such large sums of money in Iraq just make the US go bankrupt faster?

What crises...? Consumer Reports stated in 2006 the top 11 Insurance companys reported $11 Billion profit...have not included prescription drug companys profits. Forget the fact that lives are not counted as profit.

Do you think 9/11 was a conspiracy?

I think it was brainwashed terrorists who hated the U.S. and they thought they were doing something good. Is the Bush administration really smart enough to pull something off like that? Are they that corrupt they would plan to kill their own citizens. I don't think they are. Certainly not Bush, anyway. What do you think?
