It is not really about oil...That was just a convenient stick to swing by those who are divisive towards the government...

The answer to your question is: troops are not protecting oil fields because the contracted security companies are doing it. I know for a fact these private companies are performing this function. Just wait, in due time, our troops will start taking over the watching of the oil supply.

Well... it is about oil... sort of.. but not "for" oil... Imagine if those Nimrods over there got control of the worlds oil supply... So we need a stable region free of Nimrods... Hopefully we are on the road to accomplishing that... then there is Iran... it's like walking through a mine field blindfolded.

But they are protecting the oil fields.. much more than they are protecting the Iraqi citizens which in fact are being murdered at will.

Because the Iraqi's need to be able to sell the oil to rebuild their economy - which they are doing

because Bush has our troops doing the more deadly jobs, while the well-paid people from the oil companies handle the oil.....
