It's been discarded to keep the enemy from knowing what and how much we now know, thanks to the CIA interrogations of their captured minions.

Waterboarding techniques, if captured on video and discovered by the media, would be a massive recruitment boon for Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups. So the videos were destroyed to prevent them ever leaking, and being used to help our enemies recruit more followers.

That said, why are we using waterboarding? This is a technique exploited by our enemies in Vietnam and used against our own American prisoners. We were shocked and outraged when we learned of it then, now suddenly we think it is fair game for our own purposes?

What has become of this country? Is our intelligence gathering so inept, we resort to the techniques of a third world country? We need to be smarter than this, not because we should worry about the welfare of our terrorist prisoners, but because these techniques will give be a recruiting winfall to our enemies.

We must seize the morale high ground on this, and show the world that we mean business when fighting terrorism, but will we not degenerate to synthesized drowning and brain-damage techniques to win the war. We were better than that in previous wars, we need to stay better than that in this one.

Anyone saying "who cares, it's a terrorist" is not paying attention.

This is terrorist SUSPECTS. This is ABSOLUTELY against human rights.
George Bush passed a bill that allows SUSPECTED terrorists to be detained and incarcerated. This is with no due process, no recourse, no proof. This could be based on a CIA man's "hunch", or the fact that you have a dark tan, or on "you have been randomly selected for interrogation and 'persuasive methods'."

If you're reading this and you're in America, you could be essentially kidnapped by the CIA and almost drowned, while being asked repeatedly if you are a terrorist.

Now do you care?

What is wrong with you people?!!?!? They are the freaking CIA!!! Their entire purpose on this earth is to keep secrets!! Why should they show the world interrogation videos? Have you all lost your minds? Why don't we just post a blog on the internet listing the names of all of our spies? Do liberals have any interest in the security of this country, or are you wringing your hands together hoping for the day when Iran drops a nuclear bomb on us?

Theres a big fat hairy secret to confessions obtained through torture.....the tortuee will say any damned thing you want him to say while youre torturing him, so how reliable is THAT???? Sheeeeiiit back in the 60s they had sodium pentathol truth serum youd have thought they would have created more potent drugs these days?? if you really want to track down all the terrorists, capture one, knock him out and surgically implant a GPS chip under his skin and just follow the bastard back to his terrorist hideout simple!!!!

Because if we got any good intelligence from them, it would have been plastered on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, the New York Times... FRONT PAGE.. for months.. just to give our enemies the heads-up about what we know... so they can change their plans ahead of time!
We question our government interogating terrorists... and do not question the motives of those who would expose agents to criticisms for trying to get information out of scumbags who intend to save our citizens lives.
The person asking this quesiton must think the CIA rounds up people at random and waterboards them just for something to do on their spare time!
Ironic isnt it?

Officially they destroyed them to protect the Identities of the agents conducting the interogations.... and since the tapes were destroyed we don't even know if these terrorist were water boarded or not.

Who cares? Personally I find the bleeding-heart, armchair quarterbacks who voice their ignorant opinions about the methods used to protect this country loathsome. I think we really should solve all your problems at gitmo and just execute all that are held there and move on. Then maybe you crying children will shut up.

And to mike down there. Um, NO I don't care.

Why? Because they wanted to. The last thing we need is nosey ACLU lib types making trouble for the people that have helped stop terrorists from attacking this country AGAIN!
get real and a ton of dung on the ACLU.

So what. Most Americans don't have a problem with intense questioning. If it keeps the innocent safer i say beat them half to death. The lack of evidence might save tax payers millions by limiting endless Democrat investigations
