Is it now just a matter of trying to figure out which one will do the least amount of damage to the average American?

It is so expensive to run for President today even if someone could finance their own campaign and not use special interest money that person would have to come from some part of Corporate America and has his/her own interests in keeping things status quo for their benefit.

Have we crossed the line never to return to a candidate that has to be beholden to big business?

US service members........Have they added the dollar value of military benefits vs benefits received by civilian contractors? Benefits do have a dollar value.

the Constitution has no such thing but says simply "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof?"
In other words, for those of you that say "Seperation of Church and State!", they will not make any religion the main one of the US. That is why the US is not a Chrisitan Nation even though the majority is Christian. It says nothing that people cannot be religous upon entering the office, or going by their own personal beliefs when passing laws and such.

An analogy asserts that because two things are comparable in some respects, they are comparable in other respects as well.

This analogy false because warfare aims for clear victory over a specific, organized enemy, whereas the complete eradication of illegal drugs is impossible and, in any event the "enemy" isn't well defined: the drugs themselves? users? sellers? producers? the producing nations?

If you agree of disagree please state why.

Sometimes the 'leading stories' are so bizarre that they shouldn't go unchallenged. One today was the "Timaru woman who says "democracy will be over" (in NZ). Why does Yahoo publish NewstalkZB news and not a more balanced source?

Wouldn't having a unified system enormously reduce the cost of bureaucracy and the vast paperwork from so many different insurance carriers?

Just because other countries have problems with their systems doesn't mean we CAN'T improve on their problems and use what works.

There is a way to approach this to make it beneficial for all involved.
We have very intelligent people in our country in the public and private sector who are up to the challenge.

Isn't this really better for every American in the long run? Less cost for care and less room for the Pharmaceutical companies to strongarm drug prices with only one domestic buyer?

This is what he cares about:

The Provocative Act doctrine does not require prosecutors to prove the accused intended to kill. Instead, "they have to show that it was reasonably foreseeable that the criminal enterprise could trigger a fatal response from the homeowner," said Brian Getz, a San Francisco defense attorney unconnected to the case.

Sound like a very reasonable, common sense anti-crime measure, doesn't it? Well, the NAACP doesn't seem to think so:

LAKEPORT, Calif. (AP) -- Three young black men break into a white man's home in rural Northern California. The homeowner shoots two of them to death - but it's the surviving black man who is charged with murder.

The NAACP complained that prosecutors came down too hard on Hughes, who also faces robbery, burglary and assault charges

First the Jena incident, and now this...does the NAACP now exist solely to excuse or trivialize criminal behavior?

....That our current health care system is a benefit/service for Americans and not just a HUGE money making scam...I mean business? Can you honestly say that hospitals are charging people fairly? Do you really think that all the charges on your medical bills are only for the services you received and that your not being charged for every pillow case, sponge, Q-tip, light bulb or every time a nurse/doctor comes in your room.....???? Did you know emergency rooms charge you just for sitting in the waiting room?? Is it better to wait to see a doctor that will not cost you anything .... or waiting to die, because you can't afford to see a doctor????....Something has to change.

does anyone seriously think socialistic programs and socialist ideas are compatible with our republic and constitution. If socialism is so great why has every country practicing it gone broke, and are running from it. Europe is a great example, over burdening taxes, stagnant economies, huge unemployment, low GDP. Do you think Benjamine Franklin or HOMAS Jefferson would approve of socialism or call for a revolution to stop it?
