No it is not wrong to support Obama.
I'll tell you why, maybe i am just biased because he is my senator, but he'll at least shake your hand and speak to you like a person, without running to the bathroom to wash his hand after you walk away.

He is also very responsive to his constituents, something i can hardly say about a lot of other politicians.
His views are based on trying to find sensible solutions to make America stronger, without resorting to any wealth redistribution policies.
Of course it would be hard to communicate his views within a 3 minute time limit on TV, but that would be hard for anyone who is interested in more than just smearing the other guy.

Also, last time I check, we still live in America, governed by the US Constitution, not party platform.

No, if you like Barack Obama then vote for him. Although, why are you a republican if you like the ideals that Obama stands for? Is it because your family members are republican and so you registered as republican? Anyway, I have always been democrat because I have always agreed and identified more with the Democrat party. I don't always agree with everything but for the most part my values and ideals fall in line more with Democrats. However, if there were a member of another party that I felt was going to do the job I wanted him to do than I would vote for them. Voting is a serious thing and you should not vote for someone that you don't believe in simply because they are a member of the party you have grown used to voting for. This time around I have no clue how I will vote, I might just take Lou Dobbs advice and register Independent because I'm not feeling Hillary or Barack and I need to do a little more research on the others.

You should rethink your reasons for being a Republican then. Barack Obama is going to follow the Democratic platform, which pretty much contrasts that of your party. The things that are important to you, in deciding your party, won't mean a thing if you support a Democrat. That's the reason I vote the party and support the person who gets the nomination. I don't understand why people vote for someone in the opposite party! Makes no sense to me, even if he is a nice guy. Vote Democratic and help bring in a winner!

I personally don't find it wrong. In fact, I'm glad that you, a republican, supports him. I think to often that people get caught up in party loyalty and stop looking at the candidates.

I think Obama has his heart and mind in the right place, but i do not think that 2008 will be his year. In the debate a few nights ago he came out weak wiith his answers and stuttered a lot. He also started to get away from his "clean campaign" and started trying to talk trash about Clinton which was stupid. If you say you are going to run a clean campaign, do it, show us you are a man of your word.

Give him a few more years and a lot more experience and he'll be set.

I live in Illinois and will not be voting for Obama.
I don't think an Illinois based politician should be
the new President of the USA and in charge when there
is blatant controversy over the current Governor's
actions and known criminal activity of the last
Governor. Illinois needs to be a bit more on track
before it can be in charge of the United States.

Ex Illinois Governor, George Ryan reported to
the federal correctional center at Oxford, Wis., on
November 7, 2007 to start serving his 6½-year racketeering
and fraud sentence. Hope this is a good answer for you.

It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to support him if you are a conservative since he's a liberal, but he does have some qualities that I personally respect. He's definitely a thinker and very intelligent. I think he could be good for the country, particularly in the department of what other countries think of the U.S. He also just seems a heck of a lot more likable personality-wise than, say, Hillary. Furthermore, I just like the fact that he is someone totally new. He isn't a Bush and a Clinton, for one. I'm sick of the dynasties! At the moment, he's my favorite Democrat because of those reasons, but I will most likely not vote for him because of our opposing views on certain issues.

He is to inexperienced, too idealistic, too liberal, and too gulible now. He needs to clean house a little also. his church is radical black and that is going to be a problem for the whole country. a good black dem would be Harold ford or Condoleeza Rice on the repub side but not obama
Maybe in eight years.

i think your an independant and don't know it.

Here's a question to think about
What does he have that makes you support him over 8 members of your own party or 7 more of his? Or d o you like a couple answers/sound bites you heard.?

You should be a Democrat supporting Ron Paul ;) Do a report on him. He's much more interesting. He's a doctor! He's delivered over 4000 babies! And he's a hero of the Constitution! Remember that?
