It is something personal in our house. My children live by two very important values:
1) The golden rule
2) Judge everyone you meet by their character and not the color of skin, religion, or gender.

If my house is in order I am perfectly satisfied.

Selfishness took over.

The idea of the values, , is by no means confined to the so-called Christian world. Judaism, Buddhism, and Greek philosophy all expounded this ethical maxim in one form or another. Are there people in our time who really live by the values? Yes, and not just when it is convenient. But not many, they are the minority. We started to endorse bad values as acceptable, that everyone has them and so it should be excused.

The very beginning stage of the bad stuff, actually began in 1913 with the beginning of the Federal Reserve. That is when the Robber Barons first got their foot in the door, so to speak. Now we are beginning to see the culmination of the New World Order, which has been their goal all along. There is still time to stop this unspeakable nightmare, but who knows how much time! *sm*

um.. im not sure what you mean.
but if what you mean is what i think you mean then i say american values have plumetted and hit rock bottom. my grandmother who is 89, says every day that back in her time things on t.v where never like they are now, there was never so much sex and violence, now its at the point where things like that are too ordinary, it kind or makes nothing classy or proper anymore. also, and i ahve noticed this myself, there are so many different controversies going on, mostly over the meaningless little things like santa clause saying hohoho. most of it is even run by celebrities and the media and some people eat up every word they say. i think the education americans are getting is even going downhill.

idk i guess also some people now are just so ignorant, getting others to follow them, they maybe the ones starting controversies, which are changing things not necessarily for the better.

all in all, i think americans are moving away from true values and moving towards things seen on tv, and merchandise.

Political Correctness has happened and I will attribute this to the eventual downfall of American society.

Ah, the good old days, right. You know, every generation, forever, has thought that the country is going to hell in a hand basket. I find it amusing. You are deluded if you think that immorality, drunkenness, drug use, murder, incest, pedophilia, abortion...come on, name a few more...... None of this stuff is new to this time and place. Study more history and you will know this to be true. You think murder is bad in Detroit. Read more about the real wild west or the gold rush. You heard of anyone being lynched in your town lately?Young girls who got pregnant were 'sent away' and it was kept hushed up or they got a back alley abortion. There were no good old days so cheer up. We are and always have been human.

They have changed to the term...Political correctness....Which I'm still trying to figure that sh*t out.... When I was young, American values meant, care for your neighbor, lend a helping hand, work hard, be honest and trust worthy, do on to others as you would have them do on to you.....

Now, it's all about...."F**k the neighbor, I can do better", "They have AAA, and homeless shelters to help out", "I should get paid more for doing less work", "Lie, cheat, steal, manipulate and step on as many people as you can to get to the top, before they do it to you".... If it wasn't true I would almost laugh at that.....

News Flash There are no more American values. Vote seeking politicians have made us feel criminal if we speak our minds. They can all go to the Devil as far as I am concerned.
