While you guys have opinions from revisionist confederate historians, I have civil war era documents stating otherwise.

The South seceeded from the Union because they wanted to keep their slaves. That was the ultimate cause of the Civil War.
==================
DECLARATION OF SECESSION, MISSISSIPPI
"In the momentous step which our State has taken of dissolving its connection with the government of which we so long formed a part, it is but just that we should declare the prominent reasons which have induced our course."

"Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery-- the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth. These products are peculiar to the climate verging on the tropical regions, and by an imperious law of nature, none but the black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun.

Some people like to draw parallels between Christianity and "other" religions. There's a bitter dispute over property going on in this case.Does anyone know how many have died in this religious conflict so far?

Clinton was well liked where he went. The economy was booming. Along of young people looked about to him. He gained support from liberals, moderates, and conservatives. He modified the welfare program to the liking of liberals and conservatives in a way in which young pregnant woman can be supported for a time but they would have to fight for themselves. He created the 3 strikes law to protect society from repeat violenct offenders. Approved other laws such as sex offender laws. The only thing he did wrong was sleep with monica however that was not a crime she was not underage and he did not force her against his will. On the other hand bush is hated by everyone all over the world, even his own group dont like him, and more and more he is turning other places against america. Is the Anti-christ and worst president over and bill the best?

some of my more right wing friends seem to think that some things can't be bought. remember, a "price" is a vague term. lets say someone kidnaps your kid or spouse what would you do to get them back safely (besides play Rambo)?

doesn't everyone have something that could be take from them or given to them that would cause them to do something they wouldn't normally do against their will?

this just seems like a self evident fact to me. what say you?

Assuming that war precipitates from economic incentive, the possibility of China and America going to war still bewilders me. Our economies are so intertwined and interdependent upon foreign direct investment and supply of consumer goods that it wouldn't be advantageous for either side to engage the other in military conflict. Also, although oil will be practically depleted within the next 80 years and our treasuries (and currencies) are incredibly vulnerable to each other's fiscal and monetary policy (as well as private finances), our countries can certainly overcome the threatening energy crisis, environmental dangers, and economic disasters through cooperation.

Some say he is more anti-war than mccain and guliani. However is it true that he is more anti-war than hillary clinton or barack obama and can that work to his advantage if he ran as a vice president or president against those two for the republicans?

Ron Paul is the most opposed candidate to the war which will sit well with voters since most people dont want their family and friends or themselves going to war. Also he is against abortion something that alot of americans are turning away against but at the same time has some liberal ideas which can attract voters from the blue states. Whereas at the same time hillary is very liberal and probably wont win in the south and paul would easily take that or any republican for that matter. If Ron Paul/Huckabee ticket the key to beating hillary clinton or am I wrong and why?

Chinese defense minister:
"Seen from the changes in the world situation and the United States' hegemonic strategy for creating monopolarity, war is inevitable," Mr. Chi told a military conference in early December.
"We cannot avoid it," he was quoted in the newspaper as saying. "The issue is that the Chinese armed forces must control the initiative in this war. . . . We must be prepared to fight for one yehttp://www.rense.com/politics6/warwithchina_p.htmar, two years, three years or even longer."
Ok, say they very well know that a war with the United States will not last long ..and it will not be favorable on their side. Reason why he said "they must control the initiative in the war."
This brings my question in. Have the chicoms started this war?
They send poisonous toys to the united states to kill our children. They send fake tires so we can have more accidents. Reason for this? Reduce their infant and adult at the same time so no one can join the millitary. Are we sleeping?
