And should the US gov't PUNISH Yahoo! for infringing on the rights of the journalist? How?

Corporations wield just as much (if not more) power than most famous celebrady, and need to use it responsibly. They can't duck and dodge these issues, just because they're "doing business". If Dogg has to answer for saying the N word then Y! should answer for this incident. We can't really count on the Government to do anything, the people have to respond.

I think you are a little bit confused. The two journalists which Yahoo identified are NOT US citizens. The are Chinese citizens and DO NOT have the same guaranteed free speech we have here.

In addition, Yahoo did not infringe on any rights at all. You do not have the right to free speech when using Yahoo's services. The US constitution only guards free speech from GOVERNMENTAL action, not that of a business which people agree to use.

While what Yahoo did is morally disgusting, they broke no laws and did not infringe on anyone's rights. Therefore there is really nothing to be held accountable for, and our government cannot take ANY legal action.

If you think any other corporation doing business in China would have protected a pro-democracy journalist in violation of the laws of a country they make millions of dollars of profit off of, you better take your prozac.

makes ya want to just run right out and shop at Walmart don't it??!

Do you really think that any other company that manufactures products in china would have avoided turning him in and risked millions in profit??

Yahoo is run bu anti-Christian Communists, they are very pro-China. The US should fine them big, and maybe pull the plug on them.

No and No. As dumb as their move was - releasing the dissident's emails, I don't see what can be done.

Yahoo hasn't signed a contract with any of us to our information confidential, even if they imply that they won't.

Boycott them and sell off all your yahoo stock.

Or, get reported enough and they will boycott you.
