You are correct, they are being racist and he should be called the "half African American Presidential candidate". This way he gets to pull on several voter bases. I assume that the Hillary liberal run media is putting this out, since he is considered a "Conservative" Democrat. This shows that they are afraid of him and that he may be the next Democratic presidential nominee.

It will be interesting if they have to pull out the "rich white trash" card to pull in more votes for her. Take care.

IN Hawaii we call him Melatto.. white & mix race. His coloring is far more white yet has features of a man of color. Expect his religion background to come out tonight from Hiliam. The Las Vegas debates you know. She does not play nice after the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy gets her... wait for the wrath as she whacks at Edwards & Obama back. No planted q's there. I expect a full frontal attack. The B*itch is back more like it !
If Media Matters, good chance the info is another Clinton placed slant. 300 mil pays for alot more than a Town Hall luncheon!

Good question. While we're on the subject, just how much African ancestry does someone need to be considered "black?" 80%? 50%? Is someone who's 25% African ancestry but has very dark complexion considered black? Is what it means to be black in today's America more than ancestry or looks and instead about culture and being part of the "black community?" (If the later is the case then there are many "black" heroes of the Republican party who would not be considered part of this community) What about different complexions from different parts of Africa?

Just lingering questions I always ask myself when anyone talks about if someone is black or not...

If Obama had been around in the 50s or early 60s he would not have been served at the all white lunch counters or drink in the white drinking fountain in Alabama or Mississippi. The legal definition of a black man in the days of segregation and even still is anyone with African blood in their genes.

Because that's what he wants to be called. In the hopes of getting the black vote. Of course you have people being just as ridiculous on the other side saying "Obama isn't black enough." What does that mean? Supposedly race is just a color of skin, so why do they make such a big deal about it, pretty funny stuff.

Because if you are just 1/128th something other than white, than you are the other ethnicity for some dumb reason. I would think it would be whatever you are most. If 50/50, then you can pick.

Interesting question. Similarly Tiger Woods is usually considered black, not Asian, even though his mother is Tai.

That said, let's hope he wins! He's the best of all the candidates with the possible exception of Bill Richardson.
