Some people like to draw parallels between Christianity and "other" religions. There's a bitter dispute over property going on in this case.Does anyone know how many have died in this religious conflict so far?

Fighting rarely occurs because of religious beliefs, more often than not its caused by economic issues. For example the crusades, were about money and land. The people who went and fought were almost never first born sons, because the first born got land, the sons were going to fight for land, plus those that went were promised wealth beyond their dreams.... Also the bombing of the twin towers seems to be more economical than religious, they believe Americans have too much, and they don't have enough... blah blah blah. Religion is rarely the true cause of violence.

Yeah, good thing the conflict involves the 2 most forgiving, and tolerant of the Christian denominations. Not to mention the most educated. Might be different if the Southern Baptists were involved, or those large, holy-roller, non-denominational Christian churches.

Rosie O'Donnell would have to explain how this is comparable to "other" religions. Personally, I don't equate disapproval for a homosexual lifestyle with suicide bombings. Christianity has been a peaceful religion for the most part.

No, but Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland did quite a number on eachother until quite recently.

And, in America, the occassional Christian Extremist will shoot a doctor or bomb an abortion clinic.

It wasn't the Episcopalians, it was the Catholics. Look into the history of the I.R.A.

What a mental picture. Thanks for the laugh.

Seriously though - some religions are more civilized than others.
