Why do Islamic terrorists resent our Freedom so much?

If they don't want to live in a free society, then they don't have to. Why can't we be free, without them hating us for it?

We Americans were raised with a sense of right and wrong, we call it moral behaviour---our list includes the 10 commandments and more. For us it is immoral to do certain things !

The fundament of Islam has also a (very strong) sense of right and wrong and in fact does include the 10 commandemnts as well BUT to them the rule of the nation is to be according to Allah that meaning by the whim of the HolyMan who directs their faith----to them any other sytem is grossly immoral----and it is their moral obligation to see that such conditions are"corrected" so that their HolyMan can assume that proper role.

The HolyMan is designated by Allah not the popular vote of the people. Electing some one to rule over them is grossly immoral as it is against God (Allah).

The HolyMan= direct descendant of Mohammed
=a designated person by Allah

= ? you name it !

These last lines then become the reason to have sectarian designations and the subsequent wars.

One thing they all can agree on is that George W. Bush is NOT their HolyMan nor is any other outsider, nor should any outside have any say about who the HolyMan is to be !!!!!!

Its too bad George W. is unable to conceive of this notion and certainly does not accept it !

They resent our freedoms because they are scared that our freedoms will rub off on those of their country and they feel that their women might start demanding more freedoms and their youth might start questioning the extreme Islmaic beliefs. They fear our freedoms if spread to their land will destroy the power and control they have over their people and that it is a threat to their idea of the Islamic religion.

how can you even ask such a question? maybe you you should wonder what the definition of the word free is. we live in about the least free country there is. americans can't walk down the street without breaking a multitude of our own laws. ex. it is illegal to put change in another persons parking meter. it is illegal to walk up to the drive thru at a bank. it is illegal to use that lock lever at the gas pump and walk away. it is illegal to start up your car on a freezing morning and go back into your home while it warms up. it is illegal for us to ingest drugs that affect only our own bodies. it is not illegal however to go to the soil of another country and massacre the people of that culture, because they have oil. that is patriotic

They don't hate or resent our "freedoms" they don't even want most of our "freedoms" such as democracy, religious tolerance and unveiled women.

After 911 we were told over and over by the Bush administration and its supporters in the media that we were attacked because they hate us for our freedom. That gave the administration license to broaden the "war on terror" from Al Qaeda to the Taliban to all of Afghanistan to Saddam to all of Iraq, and now possibly to Iran.

It begged the question of what they really hate us for. They hate us for what we have done and are doing in the middle east. Supporting Israel, not helping to settle the Palestine conflict, stationing our troops in their holy lands, supporting dictators and kings who oppress their people, deposing Saddam, occupying Iraq, and killing Muslims of all sects during our wars and occupations.

Pip is way off, its not our freedom they resent, he is right as far as that goes, its our economy they want. They resent that we have more than them, they believe that we abuse our economic power, and that we have too much while they have too little.

Because their Muslim religion has been radicalized. If we all prayed to Allah they would love us. If dems get an overwhelming majority in Congress and the White House Islam will become our National religion since dems are so afraid to face terrorism....
